Stream Oculus Quest to PC Capture Card Via Chromecast?

I use a Ryzoben (off brand) 4k capture card to get audio with the video, albeit with plenty of noise, but at least the video works since a lot of the off brand cards aren’t limited by HDCP. Personally I use the chat link pro from Elgato to get audio directly to the capture card and it sounds so much better coming from my PC/Chromebook.

Great vid dude. This is exactly what I needed to know. I had just ordered an Elgato HD60 Pro to stream my Quest to my 2nd gen Chromecast... and then discovered the HDCP bs. Do you know if all of these splitters need an external power source? I'm hoping for a low footprint elegant solution :)

I'm sorry to say, they need their own PROPRIETARY adapters. Big point of contention for me too, but ... listen ... beggers cannot be choosers here.

Let us know if you run across the source of those splitters that's guaranteed to strip off the copy protection. It's a shame that they're so hard to get a hold of.

@@lotusexcelsa It actually has HDCP STRIPPER in the description. LOL ... people are getting brave. Glad you got your hands on one. BTW, I recently found out that the Amazon Firestick has HDCP turned on FULL TIME when that sucker is powered up, too. Having one of these strippers is invaluable.

Recording internally sometimes has gameplay audio delay and even mic delay. Does this have the same issue or does this fix that?

Should work with any HDCP HDMI device ... so any Chromecast should do.

Not sure if late, but I can assure you that It doesn't work without if you're attempting to use a capture card. I'm currently trying to use my chromecast to cast my phone screen so I can livestream me playing mobile games. For reference, I bought a Third Gen Chromecast, and I'm using a Elgato HD60S External Capture Card. I just ordered the splitter that he has linked, so I hope that it works.

Audio transmits to chromecast correct? Hows the audio quality on the capture card?

It does. Quality is "okay". Using a capture card doesn't improve the Chromecast technology on !urst though.

Was gonna try this but you need a splitter to get around the chrome cast. I have a splitter what do I need to know before I buy an elgato how do I find out of it stripes the protection?

You have to have a source that refuses to work without HDCP. You may not have anything to test it with :( Many displays will work with or without the copy protection. Not sure how to test any other way that try to use a capture device.

@@Darkuni ok I have been researching this and I have a rocketfish 4 port splitter and a chrome cast was thinking about getting the elgato to stream my quest gameplay with using my computers gpu

@@ShortBusRejectz I'm sorry to say that an over-the-counter commercially available splitter is probably unlikely to remove copy protection. Unfortunately you have to order weird ass ones from some China reseller.
