Johnny explained rod placement and fighting fish brilliantly. Best examples I’ve ever heard, Orvis should put that in their how to books.

Keep these coming boys! If I can just say one extremely jealous statement. I try to work this short cavalier style attack cast like Kelly teaches. But holy hell does it look like a different ball game from a drifter. I'm wading, limited on water to fish safely, and I'm trying to suck up my streamer max long out of the water constantly. It just seems to stop my casts like crazy. Unless I false cast at least twice to set up my chuck. Then I'm fishing an exaggerated arch in order to not swing my fly. The moral of the story is, I need a friggin drift boat and a fishing partner. I do have a 14 ft flat bottom jon. Maybe I'll try getting a drift sock and an Uber ride.

mono in the eye is one of the reasons i stopped tying streamers with anything but a loop knot. i cut the loop, the fly falls out in to my hand, i can bite the knot to hold on to my leader while i dig out a fly, the fly has a clear eye cause i tied it on with a loop knot, and then i can tie the loop knot rather quickly because i've tied it so many times.
@TheSlideinn Жыл бұрын
We only use loop knots, and still have mono in the hook eye 92.496% of the time 😬

Question - do you try to carry multiple rods with different patterns/colors and just change that way so you dont have to stop? Or is it always anchor up and retie?
@austinalexander10663 ай бұрын
The number 1 thing we are taught in streamer fishing is to not trout set. I notice you almost always trout set. I’d love a video with you explaining how you set because it obviously works

You ever have one of those days where you couldn't even get your line in the water without snagging a rock or tree or birdsnest. Two days steelhead fishing on the Kalama with my wife. She slayed em.

Kelly, I’ve read your book several times and have had great success using you patterns and methods. The only issue I continue to have is my elbow! You briefly mentioned that you were struggling with your elbow as well. I had to take a break this fall because the pain got unbearable, how do you guys avoid tendinitis? Thanks in advance, I really enjoy your content. Ben

I'm wanting to up my streamer game, so I bought your book and I'm watching these videos. Before, when I was just stripping streamers, I was taught to strip-set to hook the fish. I've noticed in these videos that your don't strip set. Is there a reason why?
