On Criterion Channel they have "The Verdict" from 1982 with Paul Newman. An all time favorite

"Lifeforce" always reminds me of 1967's Quatermass & the Pit especially the ending scenes in London. If you like Hammer films or 80s sci-fi, it's a must watch. To commenter "gabe" -- You should enjoy "War & Peace." It's an impressive film especially part III and IV. The battle scenes are among the most spectacular ever filmed (no CGI) prior to "Saving Private Ryan." It was actually broadcast (in a dubbed version) on ABC in summer of 1972 -- split into four parts and shown four nights in a row -- and was a surprising ratings hit.

Thanks for your advice on "Score", great documentary (I love the work of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross) One of my favorite cinema documentary (if you like 70s cinema as much as me) is "No subtitles necessary Laszlo and Vilmos" about two of the greatest DPs. Thanks for your channel.

Get better soon, Josh! I love your poster evaluation idea. Konbini has a French version of the Criterion Closet which has longer videos and seems better; far more thorough.

Yes. Watch Lifeforce. It’s a crazy, very silly, fun ride with great practical effects.

Lifeforce is wild. Has some clear influence from the classics, but all made up in 1980s special effects and sex appeal. I think it would be difficult not to be entertained by it on some level. :Edit: Also, the composer Michael Hoenig shamelessly stole the theme from this film for use in the Baldur's Gate soundtrack.

Maybe I should make a letterboxd list. But then, it's most popular movies made before say 2019. I should make a list of these made this decade.
