jinho Yoo yes Because in the early days of Windows (Windows 1.0 to Windows 3.11) It was a extension for MS-DOS. Then (Windows 95 to Windows 98) Windows was relying on MS-DOS but you don’t need it to install Windows. And now a days (??? To Windows 10) They relied on Windows NT (still sticking around, just merged), which is not relying on MS-DOS.

Ace May What they were saying was true, they just phrased it badly. Windows 1 to 3 were basically just ms-dos programs, and not oses. Windows 95 and 98 were real oses, but you would still start them from ms-dos. Basically, any windows 1-3 program would work in MS-DOS and windows 95 and 98
