I have had 2 of the AAA microstream for many year's. Excellent little light. I refuse to get a light if it does not have a replaceable battery! By the way... i have found Streamlight customer service to be EXCELLENT!!!! 👍🔦

I added a Streamlight Macrostream (not the Microstream) as my EDC light a few years ago. I don't even remember why I chose it over the other models on display any more, but I'm quite pleased with it. The one problem I had with the light boiled down to user error--I now give the ends a twist to be sure everything is tight as I load my pockets, and all is good. I eventually bought two more--one for use while my first one is charging and one for my spouse. If the Microstream is anywhere near as good as my Macrostream has been, it would be an excellent pocket light for many folks. And, for those who carry a firearm with a mounted light: A separate flashlight is a very good idea, as when using a separate light, you aren't "painting" someone who isn't a threat. I find myself with many uses for a good EDC flashlight that don't involve any need for a weapon.

I just use rechargeable AAA for the triple A model. Love the size for edc

I hated the USB model. The AAA model is just fine and takes any rechargeable AAA cells and will run well over 3 hours on them. Cheaper, smaller and all the light you need unless you need a LOT bigger light. In that case actually use a light that can run the tactical high output for longer, using a more suitably sized cell. The USB model is just a proprietary 10440 cell. Trust me you will be disappointed in the high mode after a few minutes. If you have a normal 10440 cell it will run fine in the AAA model (even though not recommended). In the end, if I need 200 lumens or more, I'd go with a larger light.

I wonder how much difference it would make if you used a lithium AAA in that model. My suspicion is that it may be brighter. Also, I feel confident that the run time would increase substantially.

I have the original model going on close to 20 years and it has been through the washer & dryer more times than i even care to remember just replace battery when it happens. I'm thinking of getting the usb model and definitely a new aaa model for sure. I don't know how many hours my light has been through, but it's still operating perfectly. It's fell through engine bays into buckets of fluids( oil, gas, water, anti freeze) its fallen in animals poop. Yeah i don't hold this little light in my mouth. It is the perfect light for small quick task, and takes up hardly any room in your pocket. I have big lights for spotlighting deer 200 miles away😂. I hate using a cell phone as a flashlight thats where the micro is perfect. I broke down one night the maglite in truck was dead so walked home with the little micro.. I feel naked if its not with me along with my casexx pocket knife.

Had my usb for 2 years. Still works great. My son uses them everyday as a Toyota mechanic. His take a good bit of abuse and they keep running. His only problem is he keeps losing them.
