You can run aaa’s in it too in a pinch, they just don’t fit securely.

I carried the one L1-1AA for a long time at work because we stock AAbatteries. I now carry a 2LX with rechargeable 18650s, but I still carry its little brother at home and when I’m not at work. This flashlight is a 2nd version of the 1L-1AA and actually has a lower output, 300 versus 350 and 150 versus 125, but it’s still bright enough and you have longer run times. I want one!

Have owned & used daily their ProTac 1L which can use both a CR123 & AA batteries. During an unplanned 6 day trip with only time to pack a few tools needed & not much more than taking "clothes on my back" battery in light died one night. Discovered that the AAA batteries I found nearby will also power these "duel power" Streamlights. You might find you can also put AAA batteries into this new model since it has the spring to use both CR123 & AA. Don't recommend AAA for daily use but they'll work in an emergency when other batteries aren't immediately available

finally picked this one up for myself. gave my mom my olight m1t raider so she can light up her path to church and back when she wont let me drive her or pick her up. her bedroom light is a protac hl AND a jetbeam bc40 still have the s10r that i hate and that is the light thats stuck on the dryer. sometimes the fridge. occasionally the stove. been running a zebralight headlamp for my hands free carry for 5 years now. retired it to home duty. the microstream with a 10440 in my shirt pocket and a thrunite t-01 on my keychain with a surefire e series has been my work staple for 2 years now. olight i3t with 10440 replaced the microstream currently. nitecore tube is another recommended keychain light. gonna pair it with that protac 90 as my off work carry tac light. just got the gen 3 preon p1.....its pretty nice. jewelry and function so i wouldnt recommend it. the i3t is the working man's light. the new rubber switch, comes with a rechargeable battery, smooth body but machined head and tail, programmable ui, YEAH THATS WHY ITS CHIPS. ive got all 3 generations of preons aaaaand i can admit this is worth it. the new pocket clip is so good. if you REALLY love the preon, vinh nguyen aka skylumen is modding them and getting 750lumens out of the copper p1. i still have a huge love for penlights and single mode and i am a huge fan of the stylus pro with eneloops. ON/OFF, 90+ lumens, hours of life, pick your color. its got quirks too but put some foam in the tailcap it's ol reliable.

I cannot get enough of the ProTac series of lights. I seem to have one in every drawer around the house. Lately, it’s been the 1L-1AA. This might be added to the rotation.

@@rustyshackleford81 The 1L-1AA is the best all purpose flashlight IMO. I have them stashed in every bag, pack, drawer and glovebox I own. Requires a single battery cell, either AA (most common battery on the planet) or CR123. Wonderful output/battery life ratio. High and Low beam. IPX7 waterproof rating. Extremely durable and reliable. Stupid simple user interface. Press or Click on and off. Short of a High Output Searchlight (like the HX-5) there is no reason to purchase any other light besides the 1L-AA. I might order this 90 degree version too.

Bought 2 incase I liked one, my main carry for the last 3 years is the pro tac 2AAA, love the light, and is really bright for the size, so Im hopping im suprised with it. What is the brightest light, say a 90 degree light that takes AAA or AA? (LEO here and looking for a good vest/shoulder 90* )

You are correct. I messaged streamlight and asked about using 16340 batteries. They recommended against using them. That said. A lot of people do use them.

Purchased this light because I liked the 90° head. Unfortunately I dropped it one time off the kitchen table onto the vinyl floor and now I can't rely on it because it randomly shuts off. Definitely not a big fan of Streamlight products anymore. For that money you might as well buy an olight. They take a lot more abuse.
