I've been using melon for almost a year now and I can tell you that cheaper definitely doesn't equal better quality. We have had so many connectivity issues with our live stream these past 5 months that we are switching back to streamyard or another alternative.

Thanks dude!!!!!!!!! Streamyard just lost a customer - they SUCK. I HIGHLY recommend making the switch..... Takes a little time to get accustomed to, but Melon is WAY WAY better. For $10 LESS a month.

That would be awesome but in doing so we may lose free OBS. That said, I would probably pay for an OBS Melon hybrid app because OBS makes me happy! Thanks for your insight!

The other thing about Melon is that you get monetization on the FREE tier! You'd have to introduce another service into the mix to monetize Streamyard.

There is an important feature in Melon that I don't like and I wish it will be improved and this is the reason why I find StreamYard better. When you switch guests from the main screen (in order to have one person at the time to be shown) there will be always a moment in which the blank background will be visible. In StreamYard the switch between guests is immediate without passing through a blank moment.

Thanks for continuously educating us. I remember somewhere you mentioned about pulling in Melon or Streamyard as browser source in OBS. This no doubt solved the guests frames getting messy during connection drops etc.. However, there are lot of onscreen alerts / notifications with in the main frame generated by Streamyard that eventually get recorded by OBS. Please advise. Thanks

Tried both, I found Melon a bit glitchy. Several time trying to add a quest is gave them nothing but a black screen. Streamyard has been rock solid and, they have a lot of tutorials and have been adding features regularly. Many are small but nice things. The creators of Streamyard also do a weekly townhall to talk to their customers. .This will boil down to personal preference and which one you feel more comfortable with. I will be going with Streamyard but, Melon is very nice when it is working :)

I just started using streamyard (switched from SLOBS) I was so unimpressed. So surprised that simple features that should be there weren’t. Can’t click on a superchat to display it unless you dig through the chat to find it and click in there. Channel members badges and emojis aren’t displayed in the chat. I get a new member and don’t even know what level they joined. Comments removed by moderators on KZbin ARE STILL SHOWN in the streamyard chat. And I read them out loud during the stream!!! Absolutely ridiculous flaws that should not be there when using such a seasoned tool. Thanks for your review! I’m definitely going to give Melon a try!

I use the Adobe suite. It’s not cheap. You can get great results with Davinci Resolve and the free version is quite competent, and there are lots of tutorials to show you how to get the most out of it.

The down side of StreamYard (a biiiig downside) : I) Free version (I think is 780 poor resolution, they don't say anything about it ) II) Basic Version 25$ : is say NOTHING, so it have to be 720 resolution...for III) Pro version: 49 $/ mo and only 1080 HD.....no 4K....max 2 co-host.They are in another planet ..... [prizes I don't know if it is in Cad $ or US ]. MELON is the best : for 17$/ mo you have access 1080 , max 5-cohost , many cameras (I do not know if one person can put 2 cameras at the same time , who know ?
