Street Buffet in Penang, Malaysia

After finishing Bamboo Biryani we went to try the next place which had so many varieties. I was very much excited because all the dishes were made by the Malaysian people. Somehow I found the place where I could start my next hunt. There they serve fish, beef, squid, dried fish, etc, The taste was very new to my taste buds. They add soya sauce in most of their dishes. Chicken and egg were good. It was an entirely new experience for me. It is street food and I enjoyed it thoroughly. In Malaysia still, we can see Sparrows flying. It reminded me of my childhood days.

Malaysia is rich with different kind of food . We are famous with delicious food such as nasi lemak , cendol , abc , chinese chicken rice , bak kut teh and the list can go on.. We dont use so much soy sauce in our food just for ur opinion u felt it was soy sauce usage . Should have research more places to explore better and famous food in Penang .

All this is malay food they like their food sweet n spicy Squid preparation is called Squid Rendang chicken which was tangy is called ayam masak merah fried Egg Sambal usually sweet when malays do it. Pineapple dish is called Pajeri nenas .. The last one is Fried Sardine not karavadu 😉

Hi Irfan you should bring a Malaysian to explain to you. Thr is few types of soy sauce sweet soy sauce, dark soy sauce will hv bitter taste, salty soy sauce. That is not panner it is bean curd or called tofu made from soya milk. There are so many other places here in Penang you should hv googled or use trip advisor. We Malaysian we use different spices than India , Malaysian cooking has Indonesian, India, Thailand & Chinese flavour in their cooking. We use galangal, wild ginger/ ginger flower, turmeric leaves, lemongrass, shrimp paste & etc. The pineapple dish is called "pajeri nenas". The "karuvadu" you were telling was boiled fish then they will fry for awhile to get the texture.

Second fish is called Keli. catfish. local fish thats high in fat and tasty. very few bones. if ur adventurous u should try it after going for crocodile, this fish is nothing ro be scared. try it. First fish i think is Selar also nice. U can put the rice in a separate plate and take the side dishes separately in other plates. easier for filming various foods.
