You can do both. The game let’s you use gear with stats but also has a tab where you can chose your style separately.

@theyretryingtoweaponizeit1847 The upgrade in particular is when you have the option to change gear appearance like say you’re playing a female and you have combat boots on but you want your character to wear low heel pumps. The gear appearance perk lets you do just that.

Was really hoping I'd be able to create any character. Though the character features modeling tool is insanely robust, there are so few costume options and even fewer that look good. I'm loving the game... ish... but the character gear available is lackluster

Yeah u can definitely tell they put most of the effort into how u can make your character with big nose small head, but once u get to the options of tattoos , hair or make up and eyes it's very limited and the gear u can get is lacking. It's sad they hyped up the customization like it was top tier, like woah u can make an ugly character, u can make em Glow . N sure u can get creative with but that's it

@@jelanidoyle I noticed theres a handful of NPC's with exclusive outfits/clothing. We dont have capes at all, and when I was doing the post-Rashid release tournement added in nayshall, I noticed some of them had on Juri and Manon's footwraps, and the spiked choker too. The rest of thier costumes were all avatar stuff we can get, so I was hoping somewhere these were available. ALSO- theres ninja costumes in actual black, so theres colors not available to us. Seems really goofy to not have these all available and just wasted on NPCs

I can tell you after raising Ryu’s style to around 18 you get a mission that grants you his headband. And some matches offer his gi by performing a Perfect Parry…for anyone who didn’t know this.

There very limited color changes for each item, your basic Red blue green, black brown and the very rare dark green or light pink for some.

A bit disappointing that there's no proper color wheel that let's you adjust the right color... So basically colors like yellow, purple, orange etc are very rare to be found I assume?

@@candasturan4559 exactly, your basics to start are normally Red, blue, white and black. Pink, yellow, brown and Green are a little harder to come across in terms color changes for most attire pieces. The clothing I noticed that has more of the brighter colors you mentioned, would be the "street wear" types of clothing. I.e baggy pants, heavy jackets, tank tops, joggers, shorts and leggings. Just to name a few. Apologies for the late response, but you got me thinking so I went back into my game to do some research. I haven't gotten very fair in the main story, I'm only on chapter 12 right now so there are some stores I haven't bought from. But from what I can gather most of them are down to your basics colors unless you're aiming to dress more youthful. Street wear is what you want to look for in terms brighter colors.

IN your knowledge, is there a legendary shoes gear? i'm all legendary besides the shoes xD i just want to look all golden and maxed out, but can't find that piece anywhere... is it even in the game?
