​@@brianhoey8819most modern giefs still do. You get access to all the strengths of spd still that way. The modern spd is heavy and ex, the heavy one is pretty pointless. The main strengths of modern isn't really the spd, is instant air spd anti air and lvl3 whiff punishing.

As fun as it watching all those players suffer. Modern really just dismisses the point of the game : you are not supposed to react to everything that comes your way but rather set traps or predict like chess, with some reactions here and there. He who adapts and controlls the pace wins

That's the downfall of playing Modern Gief. I'm pretty sure he meant to do SPD there, but either input heavy too early or did not end with upback, the Modern controller auto interprets it as a Suplex instead of SPD. Doing Borscht just above ground is also extremely hard to time on Modern as well. The only good thing about Gief on Modern is the walk up level 3.
