Yoko Shimomura is a f*king legend. To this day I still don't get how she was able to come up with so many banging tunes in one project, especially considering the technical limitations she had to work with at the time while composing.

Street Fighter 2 was the first fighting game that had implemented tempo change in its music to indicated a match is almost over. Brilliant audio design to add tension and suspense to a a fight.

I think it depends on the theme. Blanka song is trash here, and E Honda is better on SNES. But Ryu and Guile feel more spatially rich for the arcade songs. Arcade SFII sounds more synthetic and hence synthy. SNES more orchestral?
