Only thing that could improve this channel is seeing more restorations more often, but it’s always a lovely treat to see your projects and how beautifully they turn out!

Problem with these great videos is that you don’t always have a machine to restore and because they do a good job with maintaining them…. their older machines don’t really die out as well.

I know it is "just" and arcade, and YES, time moves on, but I really miss this timeframe of my life. It must be a fools dream, but things was so much simpler back then. And arcades like this, was so "magical" I don't know how much more one can share of the daily "do"/ does and other things around the arcade, but as long as you post, I'll be watching.

After finding out that you and David are brothers (late to the party here, I know), I can't unhear it. Man, it must be awesome for the both of you to get to do all of this together. Love the resto. I'm a longtime software nerd, but also heavy into the pinball/arcade space and I'm loving all of the content.

Nice work as always. It’s interesting to see what an arcade game actually is. A cpu board, speakers, monitor, buttons and joystick encased in a plywood shell with artwork. It really demystifies the arcade for me. Thanks again, Merry Christmas!
@PJSproductions974 сағат бұрын
It's kind of nice that arcades had so much variety in how the games were laid out over the years, it means a restoration like this can have some creative freedom. Restoration to "original" is nice but it's more fun to make it your own.

I used to play the heck out of that arcade. Every weekend all day long I was there spending all my quarters 😂 met a couple friends there too that came to play against me at my local arcades.

Thank you! In the future, would love a little more explanation on the CD-ROM drive. How often is it utilized in gameplay, can it be replaced or modernized. etc.
@niceguy6011 сағат бұрын
The drive is only used to upload the to files to the SIMM"s. The drive can be replaced be a SD to SCSI emulator.

2nd impact had the most broken combos but it was fun. 3rd strike is perfection.

To me it's a lot like Tecmo Super Bowl vs. Tecmo Bowl. Super may technically be a better game, but the original is really fun to watch when it's two players that both know how to break the game.

I really hope this arcade venture succeeds after all the work, time and money that have been sunk into it - even though I live half way round the world from Texas and there's pretty well zero chance I will ever see it in person. I certainly enjoy seeing these old machines fixed up and ready to rock again!

One of my favorite machines from my time in the industry. That SFII CE Panel is minty and gives it the Converted from a CE look but the correct CPO that came with the kit would have been a variant of the Capcom Diamondplate CPO.

Nice job on the restoration. That MS9 monitor is pretty amazing. a 27" (29" in japan) 15k/24k capable monitor that was found in Japanese Candy cabinets. I'm surprised they imported that to put into a Dynamo cabinet and not use something like a 25" WG. 2nd impact isn't bad, but I would load up 3rd strike on this (unless you already have a 3rd strike on the floor).

Third Strike is the best competitively but 2nd Impact has the best presentation 👌 the stages in that game look amazing. absolutely love this my only critique is on the joysticks, since its a thin metal panel, id take the nylon piece and put on the bottom so the joysticks sit lower. I always feel it makes doing fighting game inputs easier when theyre not up so high. alternatively, getting some spacers to put in the bottom to lower them like half an inch or so
@backacheache15 сағат бұрын
I would of liked to know more about the electronics, having a CD-ROM in there makes it usual and that fact it's still working even more so. What kind of system is it, is related to a pc, a game console or perhaps it's own thing altogether?
@TimeRiftArcade14 сағат бұрын
Google Capcom Play System 3 or simply CPS-3
@billyelliotx11 сағат бұрын
The hardware is not PC based and is bespoke arcade hardware, it just uses a SCSI CD-ROM drive. It's using the CD-ROM to load the game data to memory sticks (which have much faster data transfer for loading), it's not running the game from the CD, so it wouldn't have burned out or got as much use as a game that would constantly read data from the drive. The memory sticks are also non-volatile memory and will retain the game that is programmed on them. You can run a handful of games on the CPS3 hardware, you just needed to load the security cartridge and the respective game CD-ROM and reprogram the memory.
More restoration videos and another arcade walkthrough and update please.
