Progressive, descriptive, & to the point with examples being talked about. Great way to learn Akuma. The 3 styles of fighting have helped the most from my knowledge of playing as Akuma. Without much being changed to his buffs, I still wonder about the vol./season/version of SFV this is from. Regardless, "I'm Akuma!"

That will only combo on counter hit. in regular combo it will not connect

Great work, dude! Something I like to do, though it's probably punishable, is to fish for limbs with standing medium kick and buffer light tatsu. If you whiff, nothing comes out, but if they throw a button, you get a combo.

That is actually a pretty solid buffer, the st.MK is whiff punishable but its pretty hard to do. Nonetheless, its a very good buffer/fishing tool

Thanks, i have done a video on something similar with Cody, its the same input concept. Let's say you are doing a cr.MP, st.MK as a block string. You will do the cr.MP and the do st.MK and instantly press the V-skill as you are doing the st.MK. If your opponent V-reversals, the parry will come out and you will parry their V-reversal. All of the demon flip followups are safe, the only exception is if you throw and they didn't get grabbed. After the slide you are -2, so you are safe to block but they have the advantage so if they press a button, theirs will beat yours.

You can use air tatsu if you would like, but the demon flip is a much stronger option for the jump mixups all around, its all that you need and then some. As for VT2, yeah its pretty useful ofcourse but i think VT1 is so very strong, that it completely overshadows it. VT2 isn't bad at all,but VT1 is just that good imo

Excellent Akuma guide sir! Any chance you can do an in depth guide on how to perform "dash into Demon Rage" consistently? I am playing on a Qanba Obsidian fight stick and I can do all Akuma's DR set-ups (including all his kara-cancel into DR), but I fail miserably at performing his dash into DR. I just can't do it and watching Tokido performing this move (even DOUBLE dash into DR!!!) so smoothly and consistently frustrates the sh*t out of me :D Don't get me wrong, I am well aware I am nowhere near Tokido's level of play, but I just want to be able to perform it in practise mode. BTW, both your playlist links are not working.

First of all thank you very much. And i will fix the play list links now, thank you. For dash demon, the trick is that you need to get the double LP during the dash animation then after the dash is done a fwd tap then LK + HP , i play on pad and personally i do it by just double tapping the LP quickly, i made a quick twitter clip for you to look at if you would like. Fireballs into VT is all around your best activation. That and the st.HP, st.HP target combo

Honestly I only have one question about akuma, i main him, but I really wanna learn a more effective way to use v-skill 1 like cant u use it as a parry alone or is the recovery too slow

You can use it as a parry by doing parrying really telegraphed attacks, think moves like Mika's charged heavy kick (Dropkick) or Honda's butt slam. You can parry and punish those. You can use it to parry V-reversals, there is an OS for that, so it can be used for that, but its kinda hard to use it like a 3rd strike parry or even something like what Gill have sadly. So its good vs very specific attacks but not all.

Hit confirm is when you confirm that your attacks landed and continue with a combo and block if you reacted to the fact that they blocked and didn't follow with the combo.

@@ravens3558 practice, it's not hard once you get used to it. Make sure you firmly depress the corners, down-back and down-forward. The thing that happens is sometimes you go from down to forward without hitting the mid point. Practice with inputs and it will come. Joystick is imo harder for fighting games. Very squirrely.

Thanks a ton for your guides Mura, helps a lot as a beginner! I've got a question though: what do you mean by "hit-confirmable"? Isn't that depending on the player using the hit confirm? Like if the player had unrealistically fast reaction time that would mean they have much more capability to hit confirm moves than others, aren't they? Other than that, could you include a combo list for Akuma the way you did it with the guides for Ryu and Ken? Again, thanks a whole bunch and keep it going, your stuff helps us beginners to get a start in a game like this that is so deep in the long run ;)!

Replying to this for the benefit of anyone reading the comments: There is a relatively narrow band within which reaction speeds fall. Pro players do not react 15× faster than you do; human physiology simply doesn't allow it. So we can look at frame data and say with confidence that anything that requires a 10-frame reaction will never be confirmable, no matter how much you practice.

The first move you missed is his idle animation stomp. The second move you missed is his taunt. if you ever stun someone, it looks particularly funny when done afar before a jump in. Like he launches himself ;p Mm, I like how you showed off the concussive blast when the hadouken ends. A subtle fireball detail regarding his ex air. Air ex comes in two portions. On hit, the first portion is 2 hits followed by a 2 hit fireball. If it whiffs completely, a 5 hit fireball is released.
