The damage scaling is absolutely criminal. I play Shiretsu Hashi. I’ve learned a couple of these combos and the damage is so unfair. I got a 21 hitter down to muscle memory only to find that it does much more damage if I leave out the first 6 hits. I think it does have a psychological effect though on a human opponent. Being on the receiving end of such a long combo is super frustrating. If you can make someone wary of getting too close then Akuma has a strong fireball game.. 5 hit ex shakunetsu hadoken off the kiai stance. This is a great video and I’m going to keep trying to learn from it. Thanks.

Same reason I dropped Akuma few years back and swtiched to Ryu because despite having fewer combo setups, the damage scaling is far more satisfying.

I think VS2 is still a little weak compared to VS1 but I think VT2 is actually gonna be viable. It adds crazy extra damage and only costs 2 V Gauge. VT1 Is very strong because of the 50/50 and demon but I think its much harder to use even though it gives more when used to the fullest potential.

I am a little bit tired of playing vs1+vt1 for 4 years. Now I have fun again with playing vs2+vt2. They may be not that strong as first combination but they are still viable and very entertaining to play with.

Dude, I can't figure for the life of me, am I not putting the combos in fast enough? Too fast? I get that if every single hit doesn't land its technically not a combo, but to some extent the older games were slightly more forgiving, in that as long as the combo command was complete and in time 1 or 3 small chain pikes might whif air or an already falling opponent. But GD, MAN. I don't know if I just suck in my old age and my timing is fucked off or is this a terribly different button combo cadence than what I remember? What can I do short of weeks of sitting in a training room to tie this shit together again? I use to destroy in sf games now I'm lucky to win against 16 year Olds that this is the first sf they've ever touched
