Hahaha as he was talking about linupak, I was thinking “oh maaan I looobe those things. It’s been such a long time that I miss it so.” Then I hear “oh shit it’s good.” I couldn’t help but truly laugh out loud. The texture is very nice and the margarine just marries well with the cassava. I’m definitely looking for that when I visit the Philippines early next year.

Go watch some of those early cringe food tours I did like Turkey and Spain. 😂 All kidding aside, You are way too kind. I hope to be able to afford some help one day with the whole thing so I don't have to do all of it. It is exhausting and had I know it was going to be this much work, I probably would have never started.😂

Nilupak is soo good. You can make it with cassava or boiled saba banana. The salty cheese, richness of the margarine against the subtle sweet, creamy flavour of the cassava is a perfect combination.🤤

Yes, Jian was the guide on the first video I shot here in the Philippines in February. My "partner" in that video is my ex girlfriend. We spilt up within two weeks of filming that first video. We grew apart and it was time to go our separate ways. We are still good friends and talk regularly I am feeling much better now. Still not 100% but feeling better

Beef Pares Mami and Sotanghon are definitely up there. Maybe consider Pancit Lomi and kinalas in there as well

@@PureDetour it's more like bicol express but less meat in it and lots of chili peppers 😋 In Albay try the pinangat, it is similar to laing and lau lau the hawaiian dish, pork wrapped in taro leaves. And there's also the chili ice cream 😁 Pili nut and baluko clam unique to bicol

That Sotanghon noodles is over hyped. That's not even tasty, it's so bland. I can cook much tastier Sotanghon noodles myself than the one they got there. I'm so dissapointed tha't we actually wasted our time just to experience their Sotanghon.

Sorry you had a bad experience there. I have been in the Philippines for 6 months and have eaten Sotanghon all over the country and this is by far the best I have had. Maybe they just had an off day when you were there?
