It's insane how confident people are when they can't actually fight? It's insane. Like where does this confidence come from
@cokaneds
@cokaneds 9 ай бұрын
Comes from the intimidation they get from others naturally I think, which in turn makes them think they're tough because other people seem afraid when in reality it's only because of their outward appearance. In school I always had the opposite effect because I was skinny and didn't have that bravado, but I trained martial arts ever since I was a kid so I knew how to hold my own. I got picked on alot for being skinny but then I started wearing T-shirts more often showing that I had some muscle, and from camp/swim guys started noticing I had abs, whenever guys tried to show off they'd challenge everyone in pushups and I'd beat them every time, plus me and my friend used to spar during lunch. After all these things happened they all started showing me respect and stopped talking shit. It was a weird dynamic because everyone in my dojo was afraid of me because I was one of the top fighters there, yet at school people used to try to show me up just for being skinny. Luckily I never had to actually get into a fight with any of them but the point is people will always see you as weak if you're small and quiet, yet often times those are the real killers.

As a kid from the ghetto learning to box in my teens changed my mindset and kept me from ganbangin. You learn discipline , humility and peace through martial arts. Learning that 1. Not everyone is triying you 2. Most stree fights dont last 90 seconds and 3. It doesnt matter if you do beat him in a fight -> another ego maniac will always spawn and the only thing u can control is yourself . I know train kids and help mentor them to see that its a better life when you let the ego go and gain skill and humility .

Same for me. Once my trainer said “your hands are considered weapons & we need to register them”. I took it very serious…ofc he told me later that he wasn’t being literal. But I still looked at it in that sense. I only got to train for a summer but it taught me a lot. To add to your points, I never underestimate anyone or go looking for trouble. It’s rock,paper, scissors with fighting meaning that everyone can be beat. Even in the streets you realize most of us there can’t fight. But in college I realized if I’d never street fight again. I’ve seen enough broken orbitals & noses. All because a frat party got out of hand & that liquid courage comes out in front of the ladies

Young kid maybe 18 but lean and mean. I did decent with him the first 2 rounds since i already had a base for boxing.... But after?? Lol the gas tank was empty and that kid put a whooping on me for the next 2 rounds haha. Cardio is just as an important weapon as technique. Good memories.

In Joey's defense, you don't actually have to know how to fight to win a street fight. 99% of people don't know how to really fight, so you just have to be bigger, stronger, and faster to win a street fight
@Asofe17
@Asofe17 Ай бұрын
not really. even trained guys get shafted in street fight vs amateurs sometimes. street fights are quick and unpredictable. Most of the time the more psycho and first to attack wins the fight. example pro ufc fighter got whooped by some random bartender there is a video of police aftermath, then my country mma champ, was a few time european champ, got whooped in some street fights a few times. street fight isnt a show of strength or skill or whatnot, many things can go wrong and a weaker opponent can win, you can trip, get coward punched, get hit where you are not comfortable and so on, get 2 on 1 situation, etc. If you are trained and smart enough to gas big guys ofc you will win, but usually they will just stop chasing you and it will end in "ha ur coward blah blah come to me blah blah" overall street fights are risky and complete waste of time, you wont measure your skill there, in normal fighting with refs and rules you can. Street fights are stupid rooster brawls. if you can avoid them - avoid them.

Elbows are flared as he punches. So his punching power are mainly all arms. Every time I held pads for a body builder they always had soft punches with no snap. That said if he continued with the training for at least 6 months he could be dangerous in a street situation because he already has experience and doesn't fold under the pressure of violence. Much respect to him for sharing

Being a bodybuilder learning to box must be so confusing, fundamentally they require the complete opposite ranges of motion. Bodybuilders need to be flat footed and restrict the motion to build the most muscle. Boxers need to be on their toes (not litterally) and almost elastic like a whip, the differences are crazy😂
@randomperson8991
@randomperson8991 9 ай бұрын
Bingo. Its bery different types of muscles firing off thats why plus kinetic chain. Linking as many joints and muscle groups. Extremely different than weight lifting and thats why we see body builders do pushy punches and not have power despite being strong
@FalseProphetFallacy
@FalseProphetFallacy 9 ай бұрын
@@randomperson8991I watched the bioneer talk about this. He more or less said that bodybuilders push their punches because their body is taught that getting tense and pushing generates the most force. @@FalseProphetFallacy yeah see you have felt for yourself. I did too feel that so i switched up my training for more explosive mobility training. I have felt stronger and more snappy if that makes sense ever since i switched. the way my body looks is not as ripped and muscular but i feel almost just as strong without doing benching and a bunch of other slow and controlled movements cus time under tension builds muscle but thats the opposite of fast twitch muscle fibers. Also my major in school is kinesiology still working on it but ive learned a fair bit of how the body works

I bodybuild. I used to much more when I was a "wee" bit younger as you would say. I started on gear at 20, and I have been on and off every since until 2018. 2018 i went on trt. I am still around the same size 6'1, 260-270 ish. I can't throw a punch for shit... My cardio is good for a guy of my size, but its a lot of tissue to carry around. That being said I really don't understand why these bodybuilders just assume they can fight because of raw size. The Romans used to have bets JUST on size vs speed when they had gladiators fight in the arena's of Rome. I wish more bodybuilders would stop assuming that they know how to fight/are gonna take someone down just because they are bigger than them. Not only that but it makes the already bad bodybuilding industry look even worse. This guy sounds so gassed. I can hear the tren coming out of his lungs.
