Friendship 101 with New York Nico. Part 2: After some split pea soup and a proper haircut from Speedy at Astor Place Hairstylists it's time to keep the Legends tour of NYC rolling.
We head down to Village Revival Records on Bleecker St. to hunt for some Grateful Dead vinyl and chat with Jamal, the shop owner and fellow music junkie.
Last stop on Nico's Legend tour, stop # FOREEEEEE! Street golf with Tiger Hood, aka Patrick Barr. About 15 years ago he found a golf club in a garbage can on the street where he was displaying some of his photography. Next thing ya know he's golfing with Will Smith and Ed Sheeran in downtown Manhattan. Even let ol' Brad take a few swings... So yeah, I'm big into golf now. Any of you internet golf coaches have any swing tips for me?

I just watched your sheep herding video and it's been my favorite Local Legends so far because of not only the characters involved but the peace and serenity being in the country offers. Then this episode came on and just as I was drawn to the peace and serenity of the country, I'm drawn to the beauty in the noise and chaos of what is NYC. The Tiger Hood segment was phenomenal. Thanks for this series Brad. This is what folks ought to see when they question why nyc is a special place. No where in the world is like it. I understand it isnt for everyone and having the option to retreat to a little countryside helps strike a balance but something magic happens in the hustle n bustle friction of that city that produces these incredible personalities. Everyone needs a little time in that city outside of the tourist hyped joints

Such a joy to watch. I hung out at record stores like that all through my teens and beyond (this was a few years ago 😮) Thought they didn’t exist anymore, so knowing there’s at least one out there makes me ridiculously happy!

Post-covid I was feeling very socially isolated and didn't really know how to make friends. I stumbled upon a discord channel for people in my city, and the past 2 years have been filled with meeting great people, trying new hobbies and exploring so many new places within my city that I didn't know about before. It's a little vulnerable to put yourself out there, but I am so happy that I took that first step.

Palestinian people are so beautiful. They always speak what’s on their hearts & Jamal seems like he is no exception. I imagine it’s because they are so familiar with loss. It’s such a shame what’s happening in Palestine right now & what has been happening since the 40’s.
