Love me some GTO's Gloria! Awesome build! There's been kits where i pre fit the bumpers and I'll add little flat tabs of styrene inside for alignment and glue points. The tabs I use can be the part number tabs off the spru. That can also eliminate glue from oozing out between the body and bumper. Happy New Year 🎉🎊🎉

Looks absolutely fantastic! I love the paint and interior. I love black interiors. The GTO is a real monster. Great job! When it comes to the bumpers, I try to do a good test fitting during the prep. That’s the best time to address any issues. Sometimes I forget and get to assembly and like uh oh 😅 This is a great build of the GTO. When I was a kid, a neighbor had the same car. I always thought they were simple and mean! 💯🔥🙌🏾

Hi Gloria! The biggest thing about bumpers is test fitting then to the body before any paint or primer is applied. You can sand or file to get a gòod fit before any paint is applied. When gluing the bumpers scrape away any chrome plating at your glue points so you get a good bond. I'm building this same kit for woodys rock & roll on wheels group build.

Nice result Gloria!! Bumpers are always tricky. I do them very last of anything. If the bumper also forms part of the body work I do a lot of test fitting first and to see where the contact points are. Sometimes you may have to add some support. I just use a small amount of superglue applied with a mechanical pencil or toothpick. But you can also scrape the chrome and paint and use styrene cement. Bumpers are always a pain and always fragile.

Looks good 👍 You may want to get a hold of some Tamiya clear in a bottle and hand paint the rear tail lights. Or decanter some clear red or metallic red and use that if you have it handy 🙂 Testors make a color called Stoplight Red in a bottle if it's easier to get Testors paint where you live. Bumpers are often an issue, especially with older kits, no matter what you do - but making sure you scrape off the chrome plating before using glue can help get a better bond.

I always wait till last to install the bumpers just to prevent handling wear. The chrome is usually weak and rubs off easily. Test fit before gluing and scrape the chrome and paint where glue is applied. All GTOs look good! Glad you did a factory look!👍

Really nice build. Great choice in color. Slick car to be sure. I always remove the chrome and mask the body at the contact points before painting. You'll get a much stronger bond. ( a dab of super glue doesn't hurt either😉)

That is a great looking build did a fine job on it and I always obviously sand the chrome off where you glue and test fit sand them and test fit and that will help out quite a bit and if you paint the body, make sure you scrape the paint off also and your bumpers will stay on perfectly
