Doc is my favorite driver , The street beast was an icon , best looking car ever put on street outlaws , the Monte Carlo was epic , then the stunt double , beautiful car , and now the Nova , that blown nova is hands down the baddest nova on the entire show , and there are some bad ass novas , the blown hemi hanging out of that nova looks mean sounds mean and this year is the year , I follow Doc and now with a blown hemi Doc will stand out as one of the best street outlaws on the planet

If I'm basing my decision on the still shot, IMHO Doc was ahead. Water under the bridge at this point. Extremely good race. Another outstanding interview Sir. Doc has no problem talking but you do a great job keeping it simple, relaxed & ask good questions. Kudos again 👏

Welp, it's just like you said at PRI Doc, people tend to like you, and be a fan after they get to know you. You can add me to that statistic. Much respect to you man. Best of luck to you at NPK this year, as well as with the Monte Carlo(s). 👊

12:30 Yea, I always thought that Chief kinda had it out for you. Looking back thru the years, sometimes it seemed kinda obsessive. I guess without the negative vibes thrown in Doc’s direction, he does seem like a cool guy. Especially this past season with the daily drivers. You definitely seemed more upbeat. Great job in Street Wars Doc. I was really pulling for you. I still think you all should have re-ran the race. Instead of a better camera, have you considered putting timers up at the finish line?

@street outlaws stat guy #1, it's really cool that you're doing this..had been thinking something like this needed to exist for some time. Really enjoying the in depth interviews, thank you! Doc's always been one of my favorite drivers on the shows. We're only a couple years apart in age also, so we graduated around the same time. I grew up in Houston, but oddly enough, most of my immediate family is in the OKC area. And I've been into hotrods, musclecars, drag racing etc since birth pretty much. But oddly enough, I also played music as a kid. But around graduation, I just didn't really have any other gearhead friends. But I had older musician friends that took it real seriously, so I wound up going in that direction in life also. Have been in multiple national touring bands & such ever since, and still going. But I never stopped being a gearhead & huge drag racing fan. But watching the shows all these years, it always struck me that if I'd known guys like that when I was young, this sort of thing is probably exactly what I'd be doing with my life instead of music lol. And it was totally happenstance my family wound up in Houston instead of staying in OKC. Woulda coulda shoulda I guess. Anyway, point being, I'd met Doc at the Houston NPK last year and he was just the nicest dude ever. Then I came to the final in Ennis also. And I was talking to someone involved in SO, can't remember who, but they asked me if I was a musician...I suppose I look the part lol. I explained yeah, I'm a huge drag racing fan, but have been playing rock n roll for many many years etc. And they said "Oh, you should go talk to Doc. He knows his shit.." Oh really..? Huh. I mean, I got the Kiss reference from day 1, so that made sense. So a while later I went & chatted with him again, but this time instead of drag racing I asked him about music & rock n roll instead. And what followed was just one of the absolute coolest conversations I've ever had in my life. Doc rattled off a laundry list of super underrated & barely known bands that only people like me typically know about, and told me how some friends of his had done the early NPK theme song too I think, he is really just super super into music. So for me, as a lifetime musician that's super super into drag racing, talking to one of my favorite drivers at a dragstrip at an NPK event in front of his badass Nova about nothing but music was just about the coolest experience ever. So suffice it to say, seeing all the guitars in the background during his interview didn't surprise me at all, and made me smile & think about that again. Thanks again, Doc.

I feel like Doc got the short end of the stick because he is 405. Shawn almost had to call it for the civic in order to not be seen as playing favorites for his boy.

My question is he is spending all this money on getting the Nova ready which even with whatever updates he is doing to it it is still and old chassis. Why spend 140k buying the car plus all the money doing the updates he could have used all that money to finish the Monte Carlo and he would have a new car built specifically for NPK. I just don’t understand it.
