What they’re doing right now with season 6 STILL not being released is a great way for fans to show them they’re no longer interested in their show….. I for am losing interest more and more every day…

This makes perfect sense when you think about NPK, and the street outlaws brand. First off, by airing season 6 whole season 7 is already in progress should bring a lot of extra energy and excitement to the viewers. Second, given the fact that Pilgrim currently have no other shows taped, the only way the fans of certain drivers or groups will have to watch those people is on the NPK broadcast which in theory at least should drive a lot of the fans who didn’t necessarily like NPK to watch giventhere are no “ street “ shows to look forward to or watch. Third as the old saying goes “ distance makes the heart grow fonder “ is in play here. Once the Australian show ended, there have been no other shows to fill the void from late November until April when season 6 is supposed to air. I would fully expect at the very least a 30+ percent jump in ratings for at the very least the first few episodes. Now, whether or not it can sustain that expected initial jump remains to be seen BUT if they can pull it off, they could conceivably get the show to top 15 ratings wise. That’s what would insure the future of NPK on a network capable of paying the drivers enough to show up every week. Last but not least, the timing of the show and the live events prevents it from having to go up against the NFL and Monday night football every single week. Yes, if they leave it on Mondays, they’ll be going against MNF in mid September but, the NPK season will be 3/4 over with most of the NPK shows happening during the first handful of Monday night games when the games themselves not being generally very good considering the first 4 or 5 weeks of the NFL being almost “ pre season “for starters considering the starters rarely even play in the actual pre season games anymore. There are some other ancillary factors as well but, I think production and scheduling have come up with the best plan they could’ve in order to pump ratings up. To be honest, to get these guys to commit to a 15-19 race schedule isn’t within reach for some of these guys who want to run it. It’s now a full time job and, unless you’re already a multimillionaire, most can’t afford to do it out of their own pockets. I read from one of the drivers that ( depending on parts failures etc. ) that it cost between 10-15 k every week to run a competitive program on this circuit. Merch sales aren’t going to pay for all of that week in and week out. If all of you remember, it was a cut in pay that forced Monza out after he’d already spent 3-400k building a car that he could compete in. When you start talking about those crazy numbers, not even a 40k per week pot can sustain a competitive program unless you 5 or 6 events every season. Hopefully this works. For those who say “ another network will pick it up “ while that’s probably true, there’s no way a smaller cable company like Motortrend etc. would pay the amount of dollars necessary to produce the show with all of the overhead paying drivers etc. so, in order to see the show we have seen since probably season 3 it HAS to do good ratings on a bigger network. If not, NPK as we’ve known it at least, can’t survive and would change drastically

I agree that it was great always having a new episode of some sort to watch every Monday night but from my understanding, the Street Outlaw shows like 405 an what not, had lost a good bit of its viewers the last couple seasons.
