Great video! Do you mind sharing what settings you ended up settling on for the 2nd set of pictures you took? I have the same camera and I'm trying to find any info on night photos.

I’m surprised there aren’t more videos like this, I mainly got my Polaroid Now+ for low light photography and it’s been hit or miss mostly because a lot of it is trial and error. I did manage to get 3 that I’m pretty proud of. One was of a neon sign at a motel in South Dakota, the other was a view of the fool with the city skyline. The buildings didn’t come out too clearly but you can make out the lights and signs as well as the pool lighting. My favorite one was taken in my bedroom, an analog TV on a shelf with some VHS tapes and my GameCube very clearly illuminated by the purple Christmas lights I have strewn around my room.

What's up Manuel how are you? Polaroid probably should see this because no one is really pushing their film to the limits like this to see what it's capable of. I think what you did by using the tripod and the app to trigger the shutter gave it the best opportunity for sharpness. I would like to see these on a computer screen to see the detail. That sticker you tore off the light pole what did it say? I died when you told them to shut up, it's rare for me to get into it with a commenter but when it happens it's usually bad

Ray! I've only "gotten into it" a couple of times with commenters, but it's usually for the subjects I decide to post (for some reason people expect apolitical protest photos, like the Kylie Jenner coke commercial). I'm planning to go wayyy more in depth with the technique and experiment with some night portraiture, but I wanted to have a working understanding of exposures before I wasted a models time. Lol. I'm sure Polaroid knows about the reviews I've done, but since I criticize them a bit I doubt they'd promote it.

I'm really glad I found your channel. I feel like you see SoCal through a unique lens (no pun intended) and I am here for this. I grew up in the IE and it's nice to see the non-glamourized version of SoCal that I grew up and live in. Also how the fuck have I not run into the other analog photographer to go to Bomb Shelter lol

Anything I can do to combat that South OC image of SoCal. Lol. Honestly, I'm just trying to capture the area I grew up in. I haven't even had the opportunity to REALLY dive into it due to work - but as soon as this pandemic is over I am going to putting in so much work. I'm sure we've run into each other at one show or another - probably just didn't know it. Yeah! It was pretty weird. I thought it might've been due to me filming on a Tuesday night, but I revisited the area on Friday for a thumbnail pic and it looked exactly the same.

Love the video! I'm from OC and have been shooting 35mm for several years now but am just starting my Polaroid journey now. I love my OneStep+ so far. Hope I bump into you around the area sometime! Also, despite what some of the other dummies say, I loved you ripping off that terrible anti-vax sticker. It isn't political.

If you do, I'll probably be awkward for the first few minutes - still trying to get used to being out quarantine after the past year of working on the ambulance. Haha. And no worries, even if it was - I have zero issue losing subs over it. After everything that's happened, I don't want people in my community who take issue with my wearing a mask or being pro-vaccination.

Hey there! Any tripod with a 1/4" thread will be fine for the OneStep. They're the US Standard, so chances are ANY tripod within your budget will have that thread screw. Just be careful when attacking your OneStep because the camera's thread is plastic.

@@wesleyrenaldo Yeah, dude. I'm sorry to say neither of those things are me sharing political views, but rather just pointing out dumbasses. If I wanted to make it political I'd say we wouldn't be close to 400k deaths right now if people like you would stop getting triggered every time they were asked to wear a mask. I'd also go as far as to laugh at the anti-vax view considering the virus was certainly deadlier to those 400k people, than these two vaccines, and that's ignoring the long-term health risks some people are dealing with after having survived infection. And considering I have had a "front line" seat to the pandemic, all while seeing the government response and the public's various reactions - two things I have mentioned in this channel in the past - the above clips are really nothing more than documenting my reaction to the public. I can't really avoid my personal life and work having been politicized by this administration or anti-science reactionaries. Though to be fair, the guy who came up to my ambulance to warn me against the vaccine also told me about possible nanomachines, so this could be Bill Gates thoughts talking right now. In which case I should go back to school and go for a PhD or something.

Per the Bill of Rights: "The First Amendment provides that Congress make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting its free exercise. It protects freedom of speech, the press, assembly, and the right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." Your rights are protected against the government, not from public criticism, kinda like me ripping off a sticker from an anti-vax group that really wants to liken themselves to Anti-Facists who were murdered by the Nazi party. Kinda like me calling your views anti-science and harmful when they help spread misinformation on a deadly virus that the US is still struggling to cope with as the rest of the world already got their crap together several months ago. Do not conflate Freedom of Speech to freedom from consequence. Especially not when, by your own definitions, I should be able to voice my annoyance with people not wearing a masks instead of being told to "stick to photography." There is nothing political about listening to the experts on the matter and making fun of anti-vaxxers, especially when there's zero evidence about this vaccine being harmful to people, animals, or the environment.

@@LiveWellUkraine It 100% is, but at the time of recording I was working the front lines of the pandemic as an EMT in constant contact with COVID patients, and the "studio" was actually a cramped shared living space I shared with at-risk people. It was easier for me just to give a cheeky response to OP than wag my finger at them about my personal choice to wear a mask at all times rather than constantly taking it on/off. Tbh at this point I am burned out at what people think after the past year and really stopped caring either way, though I do appreciate your understanding.
