Hello! I hope you enjoyed this episode of night photography in Tokyo. I'm sorry for the slower shutter speeds and shakier footage in this one... next time I'll set my GoPro a little differently. I recommend watching this on your phone or simply not being too close to your screen, if you easily feel a little uncomfortable when looking at shaky GoPro footage haha :,) Much love to Squarespace for the continuous support of the channel! Hey Teo, I wanted to say thanks for introducing me to analog photography and photography in general. I’ve been in a rut for many years, due to being burnt out and unexcited about all sorts of potential hobbies. But this one really stuck for me as I’ve been trying to improve the past year. It’s an exciting time for myself and that’s something I haven’t been able to say for years so thanks man.

Amazing photography, Teo! This time what at first looked like a photowalk, turned out to be a whole movie: the movement, the still shots, the music, the atmosphere - altogether create such a bluesy look.

Ueno is where I spent my student days, so thank you for the nostalgic footage. Ueno seems to have changed, but it hasn't changed at all. Next time, try heading towards Ueno Park on the west side. There is the art university I attended, and once you pass Ueno no Mori, you will encounter the old downtown area of Yanaka, Nezu, and Sendagi, known as Yanesen from Ueno Sakuragicho. Yanaka is a nice place even during the day.

Hey Teo. Love your videos. Been watching for a while. You’re the reason I’m interested in the GX80. I’m finally in the position to be able to get one. I do street photography and sometimes, the occasional portraits. I only have the budget to get the body and 1 lens…debating between the 20mm 1.7 and 25mm 1.7 or 25mm 1.8 . Having a compact setup is important for me but for portraits do you think the 25mm makes a difference ?

The tunnel shot looks so moody and cinematic. On the GoPro it seems quite bland, but the deep shadows and green tint contrasting with the bright and red bits add so much character. Thanks for sharing all the photos. It's always nice to pause and think about the composition and how the elements work (or don't work) together. (I'm still surprised that you were able to stay at ISO 200. Is Tokyo so bright at night? I would've expected like ISO 3200 and speeds under 1/60.)

I picked up Lumix GX80 myself earlier this year because of you. I got it with the kit 12-32mm lens. I'm looking for a prime lens and considering either the 20mm or Olympus 17mm F1.8, which one would you recommend?

Hello, I need your advise. For years I am stuck in never ending exploration of film cameras but now I need a digital camera for my travels and most important for product video and photography. I enjoy your work using GX85. What do you think, is this a good camera for product photography, filming events, general traveling and some low light work?

Vielen Dank! Deine Videos sind sehr inspirierend und beruhigend. LG Bella

I just want to note that the second track (of music) is a lot less distracting than the first. At least to me. I would mutch prefer strictly instrumental background music that does not grab my attention and dilutes the experience of your actual work. Anyone else sharing this opinion? BTW. I particularly like the night walks. Best regards.

Im about to get a first digital camera soon. Is there any recommendations? With the amount of mirrorless and dslr cameras im not sure what to go for
@dominik.zemanek.9724 күн бұрын
There's a lot of things to consider, mainly your budget and the kind of photography/videography that you'd like to do. Definitely try to look for some used cameras - they're usually much better value than buying one brand new. Maybe you can find a cheap full-frame DSLR with a prime (that will help you think about exposure and composition) or a mirrorless APS-C with a kit lens, for example (that's nice for trips and good enough for most things). You might prefer the convenience of a good phone or a compact, though, or the versatility of a superzoom lens, or the challenge and quality of a 35/40/50mm prime, or perhaps you're into ultrawide shots, or macro, or telephoto... that's entirely up to you to figure out. Also, although brands don't really matter, there may be some important differences in features, and they each have their character that you might or might not get along with.

is the gx80 still worth for photo and video? or should i go for sony a 6400/zv e-10?
@SulfyTheFox25 күн бұрын
I have a GX9 (younger brother to the 80, slight improvements) and it is absolutely worth it. Just make sure you to get a nice lens for what you'll use it for (or just get the 25mm from Sony/Olympus to have the equivalent of a nifty-fifty if you want a jack-of-all-trades)
@jungtou24 күн бұрын
All are great choices for compact video/photo. The sonys are apsc, so its "better" at low light conditions. You could also take a look at lumix S9, if budget isnt a concern
