Getting into film photography again (SLR, I really love instant film too), my late grandpa had a Fujica ST701, and a ton of lenses, filters, tripods etc for it. My Grandma let me keep it, its been a few years since I’ve had it and I’m only now getting it set up with some film. Its a beautiful camera.

Great video! When I first started photography four years ago during the pandemic, I decided I would take a camera with me everyday. It started off we me walking my dog every morning and no matter where we went, I took my camera. I keep a canon gx15 in my car so that I will always have a camera in my care just in case. Am I great? No, but the journey has been fun and I still do it to this day (I am about to go on a walk now). Don't no if I will ever have a paying gig through photography, but, that is not my goal. My goal is capture moments that make me feel good and learning all I can with equipment I have. It can be frustrating at times and some days, I just don't want to take a camera with me. Even If I don't, I still find some time during the day to take at least one photo. It's such a good habit and I'm to the point where I feel guilty if I don't take at least one photo a day. Even if it's just around the house, I will take at least one photo (lol). It is good habit and you will see improvement and start to develop your own style and trying different things you never thought you would be capable of doing, especially if you are self taught. Kudos to you and Flo and keep up the great content.

The way you’re talking about the false belief in a “true photo” is reminding me of Albert Camus’ “myth of Sisyphus” and the idea of absurdity, or randomness. Part of why I shoot film is because it’s pretty, and part of why I shoot film is because it is random. It is unpredictable, temperamental, and in many ways very random. Which I love.

Some of these pictures are really nice! And I quite like the one bare foot on the snow but "pointing" away from the previus footsteps... maybe putting your shoes on those steps could've been cool! Another thing that I'd have done is to bring with me a couple different coats and pants, just to give some variety to the pictures with different clothings... still great results!

A year ago I bought the Sony c7 full frame camera paired with the sigma 24-70mm 2.8f lens. I kid you not, going back to my GX85/80, I forgot how much fun it was to take pictures. I stand by it, the gx80/85 paired with the 42,5 mm 1.7 is amazing. It’s light, you don’t feel any pressure taking pictures and is fun. The only negative side might be the autofocus. I was also suprised that I had to increase the shutter speed of my Sony because it had no lens stabilisation, even though it has IBIS. Almost all Panasonic lenses have OIS. In conclusion I learned that m43 is everything but a compromise.

What is your a7iii settings and do you usually put ND ? I have been struggling.
@teocrawford
@teocrawford 3 күн бұрын
I always use an ND filter and a Cinebloom filter (10%) stacked on top of each other on my lens. My A7iii is set to shoot 4k 25fps in the picture profile HLG2. Be careful though, Premiere will falsely interpret HLG2 at first and make it look super overexposed when you import the footage. Make sure to right click on the file inside of Premiere, go to “modify”, then click “color” and select Rec. 709 at the bottom where it says “Override media color space”. Then your footage will look normal and you can colour grade it quite easily🙌🏼✨
