Really liked the reflections in the water. I've always done it so I can see the same image in the water as above it. So to have the reflection showing what is out of frame, is very inspirational. I'm going to try that next time.

Very nice Gary, London has so much to offer. Apart from your rendering, I do love the square format of the finished image. Thanks again.

Thanks Victor, the square cropping seems to fit, it's certainly not an intentional thing 🙂

Its probably a good 15 years since I shot in Canary Wharf. Did you have any run ins with security? I love the symmetry and reflection photos the best of what you showed. Maybe I'll get up there again one day. Looking forward to the rest of the alphabet... Z for Zoo maybe

Hi Gary I've been a subscriber for a while now and have watched most of your video's giving them a 👍 but not leaving a comment which I'm aware really helps with the algorithms 😊 so thought I'd leave a comment on this one. The A-Z is a great idea especially as you'll be visiting less well known locations around London rather than the 'honey pot' spots. I do also enjoy your landscape photography vlogs so looking forward to any future ones that you release. I'm also a subscriber to the excellent Pubcast channel it's always great to see a new episode like the surprise one recently, Great entertainment so thank you for the work you put in editing them 👏 I'd better carry on working through the A-Z of London

Another great episode in the series, i like Canary Wharf area , just full of modern architecture , i'm no street photographer but i see why people would like it here. The security guards tend to be ok until you get a tripod out , then SWAT arrive, thsts Security With Aggravating Tendencies . Some really nice images in this one mate, looking forward to D !

I was a bit worried about the security there, but they didn't seem too bothered to be honest 🙂

Great vid and images Gaz, keep it up mate, not a photography style I’m comfortable with so great to watch. I like Canary Wharf, get to go for business now and then. The sunlight added some interest.

@@GaryNormanPhoto I was meant to be there last Thursday but train strikes put a stop to it. I will take it next time. I like the idea on the primes you use, might have to invest. The 24-105 I have is quite bulky.
@GaryNormanPhoto Жыл бұрын
@@Gaztography I would definitely recommend primes for street photography. They are generally faster lenses and not having the option to zoom makes you work harder for the shots which improves your skills in my opinion.

As you know I am not a City visitor but about 10 years ago I did make it to London - to see an Ansel Adams exhibition and on that occasion I had a walk around canary wharf - so great to see somewhere I was a little bit familiar with. Of course your street togging did the place place real justice, unlike my puny efforts, I took a lot of meaningless building shots, lol. Loved that colourful bridge, great colours and lines. As I watch this 510 views in 4 days, if it's only one person viewing I reckon they are stalking you mate 🤣 Nice shots Gaz. In the end reel I have very similar shot to the one at 14:26 atb Al

Some crackin' shots here. Probably better than the Barbican. My favourite was the guy parked on the handrail at the top of the steps. I lived 'darn Sarff' when they were building Canary Wharf .... never ever saw a bleedin' canary in the whole place.

Very nice set of images Gary, really want to go to Canary Wharf, most probably after the amount of videos I’ve seen of it and yes, I hear on every single one of them how security really are power hungry jobsworths. See it around Media City too, another place I know you’ve visited, they like to pounce at the first sign of a tripod but when they have light installations etc in the area what do they expect. Best is when they ask whether any images you take are for personal or commercial use, like you’re going to tell them you’re going to stick them up for sale on a website . Keep Clicking
@GaryNormanPhoto Жыл бұрын
Thanks Brian, to be honest the security weren't too bad on this visit, but then I wasn't using a tripod which probably explains why 🙂

Nice one Gary. Images got stronger as the video progressed. Quick question your shutter speed was always 800 or above any reason for that. I personally don't go much above 500 for general street photography. Look forward to seeing the next one.
@GaryNormanPhoto Жыл бұрын
To be honest, the first set were so high because I'd fotgotten to bring my top ISO limit down from 2000, and as I use shutter priority (and it was a manual lens) I was having to shoot so high to avoid over-exposing the image. I will say thought that I'm happy to shoot at higher ISOs in street to ensure that I'm absolutely freezing the motion with the higher shutter speeds.

Thanks Gary. End of the day the pictures were spot on and I would of been very pleased to have taken them . Look forward to the D s.
