born in 93 and i must say, the racing game back then was different...so many classics back in the 97-2003 era when i was 5-9 years old at car events with my older cousins...around 04, most classics were replaced with 4 bangers like civics, and eclipses but many of the old heads stuck to the ole v8 trick of trade...now, you will find more modern muscles these days, but the -04-09 era was so out of place for people who ran straight american muscles...

this is hands down one of the best throw back street racing videos on KZbin that I've seen.. This video reminds me of the racing on Rankin Rd back in the days, Great Job.....

Absolutely! Not a bunch of fools crowding the starting line or running after the cars like a dog out of his fence. No ridiculous shit talking and someone mad because they lost a bet. Just racing for the hell of it.

Awesome throw back video, i remember days just like this is Northern California... Crazy that the Syclone wasn't that old at the time and you can still see the advantages of all wheel drive off the start and the disadvantage of a v6 on the top end. Still my favorite truck of all time

We were racing down there in the 80's. They tried putting in speed bumps but people "I may or may not know" would pour gas on them all week and the semis would beat them down for us. I got me one careless driving ticket down there Damn Kids!!!

I remember a lot of those cars from cruising Porky’s on University in the 90’s and 2000’s. When we went it was usually dark and 10 or 11 at night. Last I checked there were cement barricades alternating down the road.

Did my street racing 1989-1994. That Syclone kicked ass & took names!!! Saw one or two Syclones early/mid 90s here in Cedar Falls/Waterloo, Iowa. This video was shot Summer 2001, then? Hard to believe that's 24 years ago.

The Black 67' Chevelle in the beginning was traded for an 87 Grand National to my old roommate. The car is still around, but has been stripped and is in the process of being painted. Hasn't seen the road in 3 years!

I street raced from the late 80' to mid 90's and there was a huge percentage of Mopar cars racing..By the mid 90's Mopar cars became really valuable and expensive and less guys took them out.. I went out in the early 2000's it was mainly GM and a 15% Ford and few Mopars all because prices went through the roof..Even drag strips here were 50% Mopar until the late 90's early 00's for same reason...Some guys restored their drag cars back to stock and sold them..Now even GM and Ford are 50k to 100k..I guess still better than buying a new truck or suv for 100k I would rather have a 69 Charger R/T 440(I do) or a 72 Chevelle SS 402(I do) feel bad for guys without old iron to run around in...

quite a few different groups racing in the area not so much the older guys in classic muscle cars though you don't see that much. Younger kids in turbo import cars make up the majority of street race scene now a days mixed with some modern muscle cars like hellcats, corvettes, coyote mustangs ect.... nothing with a big block or carburetor though those days are long gone.

I tried to get a 96 Impala during that time in 2001, but they told me that my credit wasn't strong enough, and I needed a co-sign, so I ended up getting another car that was on my budget, so back in 2021 a young lady who was drunk drove and hit the rear of my car, and it was totaled so at 41 years old and a strong credit score of 800 I could get my dream car the 96 Impala SS car so basically it took me 20 years to get my 96 Impala it was well worth it 😊👍.

for those of you who may not be in the know. whether you are at the track or on the street. Doing burnouts or "heating up' Street tires is about as useless as the male nipple.. you are wasting everyones time and costing your self money and traction.. A proper burnout is necessary for a Drag radial or drag slick, NOT a street tire it works against you, not for you..
