I want to thank your a lot tips you give out.i got into scraping electronics, cords, brass, copper, and stainless steel watching you videos two years ago.you were saying in this video about guys blocking road and having no respect with a cigarette hanging out mouths.that made me think of my first year trash picking and dumpster diving.while out dumpster diving I found some locked behind places like computer store, medical warehouse,a heating and plumbing store ,along looking into a locked in fence behind a service garage.you made a comment in a video on how get your foot in door more or less so I tried something that worked.i went dressed nicely to all them places and talked to who in charged or owner about saying them money on trash by letting me pull items from their locked dumpsters and handed them a list of what I would take along with my info on it.i thought either I fail or it would pay off but at leased I gave a try .over a coarse of few weeks every place I went into called me to come in and speak with them again.so I went, some understood what I wanted to do and few not sure.thosr I showed a few of your videos of scraping PC and such and also a really good one were you talked about not making a mess of area and stacked few item up that someone tossed all over.well I was given written permission along with keys to get in the locked area or dumpster.my first visit to them were very successful and I cleaned up area outside before I left.the one place called next day and thank me for cleaning up outside for them, and things been good since then with them.last month I was in the computer dumpster in and guy pulled up and said that it great they left it unlocked as he tried get in it few times.i said no I have a key and permission from hear and other places.he got kind of mad at me so I closed lid and relocked it and left.the next day I stop in at computer shop and let them know what he said and he made statement that he will cut lock off.they locked at security video and said that he came in one day ,dirty ,with attitude and smelled asking to get in the dumpster.they told him no and he had got mad at them ,and from what they said told them he was entitled to have access to it.guys like that with no respect and attitude give all is bad name.i just wanted share with your viewers that if you are respectful and approach places with a game plan ,items your looking for and educate those who not understand will pay off

Spot on Nevin - always be respectful, courteous and DON'T leave a mess. Scrapping is hard enough without getting folks upset with us.

@@sharkscrapper I never came across someone like that before.in my area there is four of us that scrap different things and all of have come across him more than one time.us four actually work with each other if we come across something one them scraps we will call them or pick it up and call to meet somewhere to hand off item.it's been that way shortly after I got into scraping and after getting to know them.one of my locked area shares with a used appliances store and if there something tossed out I will call that guy who scraps only appliances and we load it up on his truck.one deals only with mowers ,trimmers ,snowblowers and things like that.the fourth guy restores wooden furniture and turns out some fanatics stuff that people toss out.i just seen him Thursday and he had I think it's called sideboard that when he picked it up looked like fire wood.he sold it for 1500 because it was a Pennsylvania house item.

That's absolutely wild with your stainless prices, it's far higher in the northwestern US. In fact, it's still the equivalent of $2.35 (AUD) per kilo. Two months ago it was up at $2.76/kg! Word is that in the next week or so, the expected price is only $1.35/kg, though... which puts it in line with the price you're already being given. Odd how things go like that, but it's worth stacking it up and waiting for the next inevitable spike in scrap price!

It's funny you pick up microwaves and pull out the glass tray from inside and leave it behind. Do you know those glass trays are being sold on Ebay? They are more valuable than the copper you may find in a transformer!

But I don't think he's so much into ebay, if at all. I am not assuming, I'm fairly sure that I remember him saying that at some time. If he had a personal contact who wanted them, then he'd probably get them.

You missed a TV and the keyboards. You cut the cords of many things that someone else might have saved from the landfill. The value in the keyboards are the silver contacts. Not a miniscule amount of dirty copper wire. This is ASMR angry version. The fans you cut cords on have electric motors and components that have much more copper. Along with gold, silver, Platinum and pallidum. Y'all are doing it wrong. But you are still doing better than me since I don't have my setup yet. It's pissing my old lady off too. So it's not just me this time. PC can be completely scrapped. The plastic comes off the cases and you have metal. The power supply has a ton of components. But at least you left that in tact. Shocked me you left those braided wires but cut every fan for it's cords. Great video though. Should watch a few on gold metal recovery from electronic scrap. You wouldn't be messing with the cords if you had a setup for recovery.
