You do a good job on these reviews, but maybe add another parameter: Fun factor. All Porsches are fun, but some more so than others.

I've grown to really like the 987 Caymans. They're still affordable and certainly fun to drive.

Daily drive an identical car haha, minus all the track mods. Love my silver 987 base manual, even has the same black stone guards. Was lucky enough too that the original owner put Cayman S wheels on mine.

The genie really comes out of the bottle at about 5000rpm with these cars. I have a 2006 S modified to about 330hp and it is an absolute blast to drive.

I have an 06 Cayman S with PSS9s, GT3 lower control arms and Tarrett drop links and it drives drastically better than stock. You will not discern the difference driving leisurely on a smooth back country road, but you will experience it on a race track like Chuckawalla, WSIR or Buttonwillow. I drive it on the street in San Diego at the highest stiffness setting and it is comfortable.

Agree that the PSS9s create a different kind of car. On my ‘05 BoxS they communicate all details for the road - for better or worse. On the track they are sublime. Which leads me to wonder about JRZ or Ohlins….

Mine has a row way adjustable shock, all the rubber bushings out, tarett components. It’s fine on the road. I love it.

Cool review. Nice to not always see GT3 or something being reviewed.
@brax2u3912 жыл бұрын
I was not optimistic about the one minute format, but the fact that it allows you to share uncommon things, like Damon’s slightly modified car is great. Where else will folks see a car with interior insulation removed and hear the resulting squeaks and rattles? Very useful. Nice work Team Vu!

We're filming on public streets and trying to be respectful to the owner's cars. Plus we're trying to savor every feet. :)

Did you see that QX60 almost pulling out? This is a fun road, but does have traffic due to the lake and park usage. This road does have good smooth pavement though.

Depends on what fits you best and how easy you want to be able to get in and out of your car.

Porsches spend millions and time engineering the Caymans to be the perfect car for ICE enthusiast. There’s no need to make modifications. In fact, modifying it would be an insult to the entire Porsche. Just get the spec car that you desire and enjoy the ride.
@PorscheClubofAmerica2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes the car you buy isn't exactly spiced the way you like, so modifying it completely makes sense. Be sure to subscribe.

@@PorscheClubofAmerica I’ve just picked up my first Porsche. Cayman S 987.1 with 49k kms. Sports plus seats, Chrono’s and PASM. Silver and black interior. Rare to find so fully equipped and classic. A bit of a garage queen. It’ll still be parked underground but plan to use it daily and has been winterized. Just passed the Costco test other day.
