You know it’s Atlanta when one of the stations of course is named PEACHTREE!

Love the slammed look of this trolley. Just like a custom 49 Mercs suspension and all wheels shrouded so it looks like a grav hover car.

I was in Atlanta Georgia and there is a tram station right next to my hotel and a tram is really a train

I didn't notice it, during my Atlanta visit back in 2010

Quality ride. Thanks for sharing!

I rode this for the first time last week! I was the only passenger for most of the ride. It is only 1 mile long so I don’t think it gets much ridership. I like the view from the elevator. Where is that cable car?
@timosha217 жыл бұрын
The cable car is in StoneMountain Park - about 40 minutes outside of Atlanta

Maybe they will extend it eventually maybe even run it under ground along side the sub's like in Philly and Bean town....
@starforce97403 жыл бұрын
The streetcar really could use an extension, including having its own right of way. What could make it potentially more efficient is to run it alongside the subway on some parts kind of like what you see in Philadelphia with its trolleys. Also I don't see the need to have its bell ringing constantly for half of the journey.

Why does your streetcars never stop ringing that bell, and it's so loud!!!.... People in Toronto would lose there shit if they herd that all day as they have streetcars on many roads, and through many residential neighbourhoods covering 52 miles of tracks. If it's only 1 mile long it will never get proper ridership in Atlanta. Where does it take anyone? You could just walk instead. They'd have some serious extensions to add to make this system worth anything. And please don't ring the bell non stop, or at least make it a much quieter softer bell.

I never knew that ATL have streetcars
@stanstantalent.56057 жыл бұрын
At first glance, they looked like the same units that Houston metro uses
@stanstantalent.56057 жыл бұрын
Also I noticed that these don't have there own signalling system, do they just use the regular signals?
@The1NickWilson7 жыл бұрын
They basically are the same unit
@ChrisOnline17 жыл бұрын
Yep, the same Siemens S70 and I'm from Houston.
@RRansomSmith6 жыл бұрын
Same unit except these are the streetcar variant and are 9 ft smaller

Tell me. What is the purpose of this streetcar? It doesn't have it's own right of way, and it doesn't become a subway. What is this street car accomplishing that a bus can't?
@james-jordanbanks646 жыл бұрын
prdawg215 the streetcar is not meant to transport people back and forth. It is meant to raise the neighborhood value. It’s smart when you think of it.
@andrius22745 жыл бұрын
@@james-jordanbanks64 maybe, but people need to be informed on this this project costed $98million for total of little over 2 mile track. This streetcar is a complete money waste.
@jg-77804 жыл бұрын
The main idea is that developers like streetcars and will invest money into areas with a streetcar.

Great video, but to me this was a waste of money putting in trams. It only goes one mile

Basically this portion running now is a mini-demonstration project. Once these vehicles start utilizing the planned Belt Line, things will get interesting.

That e-gong is trash
@OliversElevators4 жыл бұрын
I really hate E-Gongs that cut off the sound abruptly when the gong button is released. If it were a real bell, the sound would die away after the bell was struck, not cut off abruptly like the E-Gong. I wish E-Gongs would play the decaying sound after the gong was played to make it sound more realistic.

The route is so short you might as well just walk.... it's a white elephant bound to lose money. Look at the real streetcar lines in San Francisco! People really use them to commute from homes to workplaces and schools!

There is no major shoping, no real dens residential development nothing in downtown ATL. This was a boondoggle!
