With the Holden Nationals fast approaching we are trying to have Supermang ready in time. The plan is to have the new intercooler in along with diff gears and an LSD centre. A couple old mates show up to give me a hand.

Hey Scotty, I've learned a sh!t load about W2A Intercoolers from Department Of Boost in the states. You could nearly double the efficiency by going a bigger pump, lines and heat exchanger. 19mm lines is just not big enough. Flick me a message as I'm happy to share what I've learned to help keep IAT down so low as possible without the need for ice.

Poor Scotty is going to have a hard time keeping up with a military man 😂😂😂😂! You guys are a magazine? Why are you constantly teaching people to do things the hardest way possible? A diff shop W/O a lift, really? It’s easier to learn how to change the GD gears ⚙️ than to pull the whole fing car apart! Maybe if your trying to do everything on a budget, like most everyone has too! Either get a shop guy to stop by after hours & actually teach you guys how to do it right? It’s not that hard, & will most likely bring the guy who shows up more work than he could handle! How about actually doing a car that everyone could actually get regular parts for, not specific one off garbage that’s expensive & not easy to get, with big horsepower & could do almost anything, like the Mazda did when first built, except with heat & a/c, so it could actually be driven by anyone in almost any weather! Like a car is supposed to do! Instead of just being hard parked in the garage 🙄🙄🙄🙄! Or how about getting that little green car running properly? Maybe freshen up the engine so it doesn’t explode & making it run fast & have heat & a/c so it could actually be driven! Nothing worse than having something that has a shit ton of money in it, & it sits gathering dust & parts!

Look at those tables just COVERED in parts - you need to spend a weekend knocking up some build tables - rolling shelving units that hold all the bits from a car whilst it's being improved, that can move around with said car so you're not trudging across the workshop 1000 times to get the bits which somehow are always on the opposite side of the place...

Ugh! air to water to air intercooling! Nothing like having two heat exchangers and four tiers of heat to worry about! Probably better off just using that blue 47.3 litre coleman cooler you have there and drill a couple of holes in it, run a copper loop and then fill it with 2 bags of ice and water to feed the intercooler. that will obviously drop your inlet temps better than anything else but I guess why stop at that and just run a dry ice can right?

has RYOBI made a jump pack that accepts a drill battery (or 2) yet? if not, how good would that be!
@dragpix
@dragpix 2 жыл бұрын
I did the math once with some milwaukee batteries, they top out roughly at 60A with the m18 stuff (best case) so you would need roughly 6 batteries in parallel to safely use it as a jump pack with enough overhead to avoid melting stuff with the inrush current. That said I have 3d printed adapters to go on their batteries and connect a buck converter which is basically dc to dc converter, i.e 18v in 14v out to top up a car battery. Works great for that.
@deankdx
@deankdx 2 жыл бұрын
@@dragpix surely those jump packs don't put out much in the way of Amps? they only have an alarm back up battery in them(albeit sealed lead acid) with wires less than what an amplifier for a subwoofer uses.

Scotty, you know that I watch every video and I have alot of respect and love for the content and your abilities, but if this car doesn't live up to expectations you have to ask yourself, at what point is it turbo time? The L67 is an AWESOME platform, but the M90 can only do SO much before it becomes redundant. Richard Holdener just did a turbo vs supercharger comparison on one and the turbo obviously came out on top. I'm not trying to say that the supercharger isn't cool and isn't interesting, I'm just saying that a turbo with a NA 3800 intake manifold would make WAY more power and turn this Holden into an absolute rocket.
@STREETMACHINETV
