It's a testament to how well this game is designed that I picked it up and instantly knew what the controls were. All of my muscle memory came flooding back from playing the old games and I could tell that the developers approached this project as fans, which makes all the difference. I love the new art style, the soundtrack is kickass, the combat is just as satisfying and solid as SOR2 and all of the new abilities, special moves and easter eggs are so much fun. Cheers guys, you made this old fan very happy! :D

The new style of characters they came up with is definitely not feeling like the same vibe so I'm glad at least they added the retro stuff. I don't like all of the lines drawn on the characters. I wish they would have honored the old box art style with characters that looked more realistic. I just expected better is all.

It does look like a french game. It isn't bad but it certainly doesn't look japanese. In order to have a japanese look, the characters have to be thinner and the animations can't have the bubbly movements they are being given when moving.

Game is gorgeous, it brought back one of my ALL TIME favorite series, and it's an extremely fun and natural feeling progression of game mechanics and lore. Having a custom arcade cabinet built using the art and i expect it to look stunning. Yall are bringing out a PROPER Turtles game after decades of garbage, all you need to do now is pull a hat trick with Golden Axe. Which is kind of funny because that would make THREE side scrolling beatemup games you guys rescued from the jaws of horrible 3D attempts at the genre.

Uttam A I think that they also need to fix issues. I’m going to put something up that everyone feels: Combo Breaks & Rage Quits. Not combo breaks due to stupidity (although it would be funny, maybe), but combo breaks that relate to lag, glitches, unusual game behaviour, punches that do not connect but ruin combos, combo breaks when you use defensive special, enemies avoiding Blaze’s somersault despite being ON her & then retaliating with that Galsia jab that we all despise. This game is a masterpiece, however. People who play Call of Duty & mainstream games that aren’t as good need to recognise. Keep up the good work Dotemu, despite some issues.

The little details would count. Dotemu, if you read this, please consider the following little things for Streets of Rage 4: 1) BGM / SFX / Voice Sound test in the Sound options, just like the original games. Having a numbered list of sound effects, voices and music to select from the same way we selected them on the Genesis. 2) When we get to the main menu, after a time, there should be a small 'demo' playing on its own just like many games were doing during the 8-bit and 16-bit era (and in Arcades as well). If the main menu is not interacted with for maybe 20 or 30 seconds, it should start a small gameplay that is being played by A.I. or maybe was recorded by someone in the studio for this purpose. It would play automatically and would be immediately canceled whenever a button would be pressed to get back to the main menu. Thanks for considering! I can't wait for this game.

While we can expect the music in SoR4 to echo the old games, what impressed me when playing SoR1 and 2 is how contemporary the soundtracks were, for video games. They pulled from cutting-edge club and new age music. I'd like SoR4 to draw from the past but also be inspired by modern sounds, to groove and rock to but also return to the bleeding edge.

I agree, the original songs went for a street sound which was basically house music and underground house/techno. If you think about it though some of the songs were really out of context to what was going on (the music for the jungle in streets of rage 2) so even though the music in sor2 is amazing, for some levels i like to think that each can be enjoyed equally seperately as well as both together. if that makes sense. so playing the first level song should remind you of the first level, and then playing the first level without music should make you hear the song in your head. So its important to have songs that sound great and can be listened to on repeat. i feel anything with a mumble rap or dubstep feel can be a bit too much. its gotta be just right but can be an all new style to reflect today.

keep up the perfect work! i'm a great fan of SoR and im so excited for it! the only thing that concerns me is that i barely see influences from 3rd game, i know that 2 is the best game for almost all SoR fanbase (not for me, 1st game will be always be the better for me, but i agree infact 2nd game is way superior), and its normal that it will influence you guys more, but please, don't forget 3rd game elements, we all should agree that it's the best game gameplay wise, and we need to have that in 4 too, things like run, roll with i-frame, blitz attacks, etc. it will make the game way more dynamic.

That's right! I would say that the 3rd part is a modified 2nd (in terms of gameplay). But the music in the 3rd didn’t come out very well. The musical accompaniment standard is the 1st and 2nd parts of the game series.

Le stage 8 de l'original avait ce coté en phase avec l'univers avec l'aube qui progressait. J'espère que les sounds fx des coups seront plus brutaux et percutants que ce ceux qu'on entend jusqu'à maintenant, j'insiste lourdement la dessus mais c'est vraiment essentiel pour ceux qui vivent le jeu à fonds.Le look des persos est excellent je trouve. La chemise à carreaux d'Axel , pure symbolique d'une époque fin 80 début 90.

The game looks pretty cool, but i really don't understand the ideas behind the Axel model. A shirt, a shirt open on top and another shirt tied at the waist ?! Really did you think this was a good idea ?! I don't know if this look has anything to do with the story in the game. But with this bard he just looks like an old uncle wanting to look young or whatever. Maybe a DLC with new skins could be a good add for the game.

I really love the passion reflected in these mini documentary on the making of this game. This isn't some arbitrary cash in like Sonic 4, This is a love letter for the original game and a mark of respect for the vision the original creators of SoR had for the series.

SoR art was always vibrant and I hope the music is as good as it Yuzo Koshiro. A little apprehensive that Yuzo didn't do the tracks but I won't judge harshly.
