+Chris Easley the red color with the black splatter for sure. The version here and the plain black were sold both in the US and the UK, while the black splatter one was sold in the UK only

+Helloz World I was born in 94 so most of the 90s is a blur to me. Ulala/Space Channel 5 is a great game. The Dreamcast is one of my top 3 favorite consoles of all-time :)

How do they do this?! Connect the Genesis and record the song from the game's sound options?

They record the song from actual game hardware, but I'm not sure if it's as simple as through the game options

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that they recorded each track (as in the layers of the songs, individual instruments) individually through the actual hardware. Then they mixed and mastered it from there. Which is why it sounds so good.

The stock Genesis amplification circuitry on certain models had some ...quirks. These recordings are partially from a console modified to get around that, as well as recorded from the hardware the music was composed on: the PC-88.

Some of the tracks are recorded from an actual MegaDrive, others are recorded from the PC-88. There's a list that indicates the source on the back of the vinyl's folder.

I'm not the guy to tell you, I truly don't know anything about players. You're not gonna want any of those "all-in-one" players as they're made with cheap parts. The brand I've been using is audio-technica. Have been using this turntable for almost 4 years now without any issues I think I would recommend this player but it's pretty pricey. They also have a cheaper turntable they sell that seems decent. Check Amazon for good reviews on turntables and try a little bit of research and look for one with the features you want

MIDI probably isn't the right case for this specific soundtrack, as I'm sure the game used its own proprietary format. The FFVII and FFVIII soundtracks I have on this channel I believe are actual MIDI soundtracks on vinyl, though!

KZbinrman For this game, it was most likely recorded from a PC-88. Yuzo Koshiro had his own composing tools for the Genesis, most of his tracks were done first on a PC-88 with a YM2608.
