Developer here, thanks for the review! Just wanted to mention something regarding environmental variety, things actually do open up quite a bit once you get to the Park level (3-1) and Downtown (4-1). Overall there are 6 types of environments in the game.

@@SwitchUpYt If you're finding the game difficult (and I don't blame you at all), I'd recommend turning on some of the mutators like Sandbox mode. This mutator basically lets you walk through levels and not actually need to do the missions if you don't want, so you can literally just walk straight through to the park!

Sorry it took me a while this one - at first I wasn’t sure what on earth the game wanted to be. By the end I was a touch more clear. It wants to be about 4 different things. It has made me want an old school Syndicate remake though, what do you guys think? Mark

I picked this up the other day and I haven’t wanted to stop playing it. The more you play the deeper it gets. I can easily see myself sinking a hundred hours into this game. The performance on Switch in wonderful too which is nice after so many bad ports to Switch.

I’ve been really disappointed by the frame drops in this game. I had the base game on pc and loved it. Got the switch version with all dlc but for some unfathomable reason I’m dropping frames on a game with pixel graphics and sprites from the Super Nintendo era. Still playable, but if there’s a big commotion going on, I’m losing like 1 or 2 full seconds and it’s costing me runs. Love the game, wish they could port it in optimal fashion.

This the most fully developed game I’ve ever encountered. Even the minor glitches I’ve come across have left me feeling like they could just be intentional. Every element of the world is well-purchased and has a point. It feels so tight, clean and well oiled that it runs like a perfect machine. I’ve almost finished every class on switch version and it’s one of the most fun games I’ve ever played. The developers clearly had a beautiful idea and they hit it out of the park with charm, comedy, creativity, and freedom that I’ve seldom seen in many other games I’ve played prior. Cannot express my enjoyment enough!

Just stumbled upon this rare gem on sale and I'm glad I purchased this between gameplay and replayability I can't praise this game enough wish graphics were polished a bit more but that can be overlooked. I can't get enough of games like this in a sea of duds this is enjoyable awesome review thank you for helping me decide on the purchase you didn't steer me wrong and I can't thank you enough! On the bright side it isn't as hard as enter the gungon hopefully this bird doesn't loose it's appeal.

i was looking for a couch co-op game, and this popped up. i like the idea of the different classes, but it seems like it'll always end up with the soldier having the most fun if they can just run and gun any level.

I rate this a must buy if you have the slightest appreciation for the Roguelite genre. I have had this game since early in the Steam (PC) Early Access.. I have had so much fun.. still not tired of it.. purchased it for Switch too. Just wait till you unlock the Zombie class. Turn a few of Slum Dwellers into Undead and watch the glorious mayhem unfold!!!

I feel like Streets of Rogue is about the same as BOI(like you said Mark), BOI did not click for me until I reached 80 hours and finally knew what the heck I wanted to do. Once you unlock more things in this game it gets better, but as I’m playing through it a second time I’ve felt a little discouraged losing what I have unlocked on PC. It has been running a bit slow but I’m sure we will get there soon! Thank you so much for this review and I can’t wait to see what you guys think of it later. See you in the Discord! 😄

This is one of my favorite games of all time. I disagree with you on the music, I could listen to all the tracks for dozens of hours. The depth of this game is insane. The amount of items, traits, mutators, and customization options are staggering. It's one of those games that becomes exponentially more fun than the sum of its parts. I can't wait for the sequel.

I have over 200 hours on the PC version, but...i found it kinda hard to play on the Switch. I did my best to try and get used to the controls, but i can't. That's my experience. That being said, it is a wonderful game and deserves more love than it gets.
