Even after all these years, hearing this melody brings me back to the safety of Whiterun. The safety of my younger years, before my eyes became too open for comfort. Amid a world gone crazy, with all of Tamriel ravaged by the Thieves' Guild, countless slain by the Dark Brotherhood, and all of this overlooked by a corrupt empire; with my Nordic homeland of Skyrim divided by race and a bloody civil war, with dragons appearing as if from Oblivion itself, Whiterun was where I called home. I was a respected Thane, with Lydia by my side, and my beautiful wife Silja baking me pies in our humble breezehome. I hummed this very melody to myself as I walked by the beautiful Gildergreen, hearing the Talos worshiper shouting in the courtyard. Nazeem never failed to greet me with his sarcastic quips. Nazeem, if you are reading this...if you're still out there, indeed I get to the Cloud District often, and it was once a place where all of my troubles were softly abated without fail. I'm sorry, my dear Whiterun. I'm sorry for leaving you for such long spells. I'm sorry for joining the Stormcloaks. I'm sorry for laying waste to the only place where the cobbled roads knew me better than I knew them. A place where Nord, Imperial, Breton, Altmer, Dunmer, Bosmer, Orsimer, Argonian and Khajiit were welcome with open arms. A pox on it, hearing this tune weakens me as if I had taken an arrow to the knee.

I really appreciate that you decided to convert the pitch and make it microtonal. Streets of Whiterun was originally composed as a microtonal piece. Because many instruments cannot play microtones, a lot of the other covers of this song on KZbin are in E Major, the closest semitone. Thank you. Adding that microtone factor really added to the effect of the original composition, and I'm glad that you took the time out to ensure that your cover was in the same microtone.

My dad got it so when I visited his house over the weekend I played it and instantly fell in love. He ended up buying it for me and I put so many hours into the game. It’s now that every time I install a new mod, I’m trying to recreate that feeling. Not just of playing Skyrim for the first time, but being happy. Now that my grandpas gone I keep holding on to anything that reminds me of that time.
