presenterman, you always cheer me up: "were gonna end up describing the instrument so thoroughly, there will be no reason left to play it" is a damn fantastic sentence.
@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC Жыл бұрын
Some people took that sentence the wrong way so I’m glad you enjoyed it! We always say these things in the spirit of curiosity and invention, never hostility! ⚡️🎶⚡️
@LaymensLament Жыл бұрын
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC well, what can i say, it is the best sentence. see, first, it describes a specific type of experience well but the real barn burner is the following: on the surface it sounds like youre against 'rational analysis' of instruments but its formulated as "there is no more reason to". now, if reason wasn't important in the first place, we wouldn't mention "lack of reason" as a potential negative. so apparently, we really depend on or want reason and it is out of reason, we choose a different approach. its super circular! Tell the other kids: it rocks because its super circular!

I think it’s supposed to sound broken sometimes. Cortini it seems has come to love the things that are wrong with vintage gear. How honest it is to embrace a love regardless of its faults. Beautiful!; Correction- because of its faults. I’d say it’s semi groundbreaking and enormously interesting to try to replicate things having gone “broken” in a random natural way. Quite inspiring. Thanks for taking on such a necessary destiny of creative processes. If that makes any sense...

Walker is doing a Hogwarts masterclass. Can't wait to patch this thing up as a Shared System guest, but it's hopefully on a boat or plane to the Old Continent. This video is a clear demo of how to turn plutonium into gold and nuclear waste. I hope there will be an office hours with Strega and the TMMM.

I wonder if more modular (or semi modular) equipment will come to have touch patch points like this, I think it’s a super interesting idea that adds an immediacy to patching that you can’t get by plugging and unplugging a cable.

Can’t wait for mine to come in next week :) would love to see some “make noise easel” (Strega + 0 coast + 0 ctl) content seems like the three were made to live together, the 0’s give full precise CV control and the Strega induces an alchemical flair that will make regular bleeps and bloops into magic!! Honestly I’m more psyched to not run my 0 coast through digital effects and have effects processing that was made for it in a way. Great work MN team and thanks for the vids Walker keep yo the good work!

Idk why, but this device didn’t click with me until yesterday. Another channel made a very good demo on it that pushed it up to my gas list. I’ll snag one to add to my 0-coast/0-Ctrl easel. I love the stuff you guys are making, and one day I hope to own your shared system! Edit: it would be amazing if y’all made a modular tiered rack for these devices to save some desk space. You could offer them in 1,2, or 3 tiers and bundle them for savings. After this video, it’ll be my 3rd make noise synth/controller in this form factor.

I really want to hear the more musical offerings of this instrument. Most of the demos have just been barrages clocky/noisy sound. I am so far unconvinced that’s this thing will be any good. I have one on order from where I work, but I’m starting to think my money would be better off spent elsewhere.

This *is* musical...just maybe not the music you’re interested in. I’ve seen demos that make it sound more conventionally tonal, especially in combination with other gear, but it certainly seems to excel at noisier and more experimental music.

It's got an aesthetic, for sure. I think Hainbach and Sarah Belle Reid had some more melodic stuff in their demos, but it's definitely not going to be for everyone.
