So young, almost 21, yet she'd been on her own for almost 6 years! She got to where she is with raw talent, fortitude, friends, and the subway.

Absolutely stunning! Studio executives from Columbia Records were afraid this was too 'raw' for the public. Boy, were they ever wrong! No wonder she demanded, and got, complete creative control from the start.

To think she had this much stage presence and deportment at this age is astonishing !Some people grow into the people they become. Barbra was Barbra out of the womb.

My parents saw her in the early-1960s at a nightclub in New York. The following day, my dad went on and on about this girl who was sure to be a star someday. As for me, I recall watching her early specials on our little black & white tv. I’ve been a fan ever since. My own now-adult children could never understand the fascination. I said, you to understand that she was utterly unique, there was no one else like her.

@ I’m glad! It was a long time ago, and my parents are both gone. Feel free to erase this video, but I’ve loved Streisand for most of my life, and when it was my daughter’s birthday, I thought the lyrics to “Look at that Face” were so appropriate. Barbra never sang it again, although I wish she had. I couldn’t find a karaoke version of it, so I just used Color Me Barbra and copied her phrasing! Luckily I can carry a tune, but I can’t hold those notes as long as Barbra can! (that’s my late mother in the chair) kzbin.info/www/bejne/qH_cnpWko65rntEsi=flBiCxT89bgGnZ-f

Another early gem from Ms Streisand, with her young, strong voice, which soon became incomparable. And now more than 60(!) years later, we're still listening to new, quality recordings from her (i.e., "Love Will Survive"). Amazing!
