I love the look of the table, 2mm is excellent for that zoomed out view.

Cheers Alex. Hopefully a different way of seeing those huge Ancient battles that gets across their true magnitude.

Beautiful, looking forces here!😍 This is what happens when you’re not paying attention for a while, I’m just seeing these videos, and this game now. 😢

I hope we’ll get to game play soon…. (In terms of refighting classical battles it will be really interesting to compare these rules with those from Phil Sabin such as his Lost Battles set.)

Thank you. I hope you enjoy giving them a spin. They tend to create what I think are very plausible outcomes while still being good fun.

Hopefully a new and quite a different take on the traditional wargaming aesthetic. I won’t say it’s better - as I love 28mm figures too, but it’s certainly different and gets you to focus on formations rather than uniforms and individual weaponry.

Is this battle going to be available as a scenario? For the Helvetti you mention 6 warbands, but it does seem you have 8 on the table, one being superior, a skirmisher and 2 cavalry?

Two are in the flank attack

As always fantastic. Inspirational. Now if only I could learn to paint some of my figures, mostly 28, so they don't look too horribly horrendous... Hahaha. Great video. As always and be safe.

Cheers Charles! The nice thing with these armies is they are relatively quick to paint. A few thousand men in a few hours is achievable!

Hi I've really enjoyed all your videos the terrain is totally spectacular. Two questions, when are the rules out ? And where do you get the figures ?
@tobyellis36392 жыл бұрын
Pre Orders are out for the 25th and the figures are scratch built :) If you have a google there are a number of companies beginning to make figures for the game now though!
@simonwilliams35462 жыл бұрын
@@tobyellis3639 hi and thanks for the update. I have seen a few videos on KZbin with guys printing off 2mm figures for the game. I'll check Google out later to find out what's out there, the only manufacturer I could think of in this scale was irregular miniatures
@tobyellis36392 жыл бұрын
@@simonwilliams3546 project wargaming does some lovely stl files for 2mm, Korhyl Miniatures also make resin castings in a similar style to Mark’s homemade units. The last I can think of at the moment is Warbases’ Antonine Miniatures which are metal castings for the game :)

@@tobyellis3639 hi Toby Thanks again for the info, I've subscribed to project wargaming and must admit I'm totally blown away by the things he produces for 2mm, his ACW, Napoleonic and ancients are something else. But I don't think I'll be purchasing a 3D printer anytime soon. My pile of shame is big enough without me producing more myself lol. I think out of all I've seen if project wargaming started producing and selling I'd go for his stuff over anything else I've seen.

Of course you can use your existing Ancient armies to play these in any scale. They really shine in 2mm and 6mm though!

Inspiring stuff, chaps! But, having slept at a few reenactor camps, can tell you for free - the barbarian wagon lager is way, way too small!
@sirrathersplendid48252 жыл бұрын
A Gallic/Germanic camp would surely cover several times the area of the deployed army. Even stylised for the tabletop I would expect something an order of magnitude (x10) larger.
@markbackhouse33722 жыл бұрын
A fair comment. A few compromises were made on ground scale to fit huge battles on to normal or even quite small gaming tables. In 2mm however at least you can put down 100 wagons rather than 4 tents and a couple of wagons most people might use in larger scales to be a camp barely fit for a platoon! Of course if you wanted to make larger camps in the rules you could… in smaller scales it’s pretty easy to do!

Two 17+" videos just to tell me that the game is about typical Romans (10 bases of Legions, Skirmishers, Cavalry + Leaders +Camp) fighting typical Barbarians (10 bases of Warband+ Warband+ another Warband)? I understand it's a "teaser" before you show how the game actually PLAYS, but a surprisingly long one, at least for my liking, gentlemen...

Patience is a virtue. If you want to see the battle skip to videos 5,6 and 7!🙂
