About 10 years ago, my husband and I established a devotional time each morning. Even on the countless mornings he drove 1-1/2 hours to work, I'd read from various daily devotionals and coordinating portions of the Bible. How God has used this time to enrich our lives with His sweet presence. I would love to have the couples Devo Bible !

My husband and I take 3 weekend getaways each year - our anniversary and each of our birthdays. We don't usually go far, but going somewhere just the two of us (we are blessed to have grandparents who are willing and able to watch our kids) is refreshing. The timing works out well for us, too - March, August, November, so they're spaced out, and each of those celebrations is a reminder to get the getaway on the calendar, otherwise they just wouldn't happen. I'm most intrigued by the check-ins and date ideas in this Bible!

I like that it has different sections for the weekend readings, to kind of change up the devotionals a bit. Thank you for noting that it's not about us, and caution us not to make it that way. Excellent point that needs to be stated (I know I always need the reminder)! I also like that it's undated, and goes from Genesis to Revelation. We definitely need to be reading The Word more together... I would love to try this!

Appreciate your honest review. As we've just marked our first anniversary, we're navigating through the adjustment phase. There are still a lot of things to work out especially on finances (we found Money and Marriage by Crown Financial Ministries very helpful in our journey). Engaging in joint devotionals with The Couples Devo Bible would greatly aid us in working through future challenges as a team.

It’s easy to start out with great intentions but the busyness of life steals over precious time to connect with spouse. Neat to have 2-in-1 Bible with built-in devotional with undated readings. It would create focus and purpose to meaningful time in the Word. Appreciate your honest evaluation and reminder that it’s not about us. I wonder if Zondervan will consider this in next edition and possibly rewrite some of the content because individually becoming more like Jesus and seeing how God’s Word can shape and influence our hearts will strengthen a marriage. I’d love a copy to work through with my husband. Thanks!
