Strengthening South North Partnerships - Session with Konkankoh

How do we create North South partnerships that are rooted in respect, compassion, reciprocity and a shared desire to create a more regenerative future?
To get to a more regenerative future, we need to be able to create true, authentic, co-created partnerships across borders. These need to go beyond a narrow concept of “aid” to the reciprocal exchange of knowledge, wisdom and perspectives. How can we help each other to see the fuller picture, and create truly collaborative partnerships?
Konkankoh is a remarkable indigenous elder from Cameroon, currently based in Portugal as he had to flee his country after having spent 30 years developing and building permaculture villages. They were destroyed and he recently fled to Portugal where he is now asking the question: How can I bring the African Way to Europe in a mutual respectful way?
These are some the questions we bought into this session as we start to put together a working group for the incorporation and founding of the African Peace Village, a learning center for sharing African wisdom and ecological knowledge in Europe.

Really brother Konkankoh you are born great. As a young man from sierra Leone, you inspired me greatly. I pray God will continue to give us the strength everyone of us here.

In my country here sierra Leone, two ethics group are the major problems, the Themnes and the Mendes. I am part of the Themne tribe even if it happens that someone speaks the truth about the way forward. Other people will look at you in different ways, just because of their selfish interest and their immediate family. Instead of seeking the interest of everyone and how we can be able to save our environment and the soil for future generations, everything have being politicize. I am afraid for the future generations. Today everybody wants to travel to Europe for Greener pastures.
