The French pro Quake Live player, Kevin "strenx" Baeza, is famous for dominating opponents with his superb lightning gun aim during tournaments. He emerged from being cannon fodder for people such as Cooller and Cypher to becoming a dangerous contender for top 3 placement in tournaments.

Agreed 100% I genuinely miss this game in the Pro scene.kids won't know what a shooter game is without health regen..really sad

***** It's not even just about the health regen. It is also (or even more) because everything becomes more and more casual friendly so the publishers sell more copies. The biggest aspect is that in modern shooters the weapons are pretty much all literally the same.It doesn't matter what weapon you use. It requires no thinking/skill at all anymore. You just run around on a small flat map with barely any verticality at all and shoot what moves. The only way you can drastically increase your score is to play with friends (on purpose obviously.. it is all marketing)..

ut2004 is competitive aswell, got 1 more weapon, all weapons got double fire mode, its fast when u know how to move on it, not like quake, u got different moves, but they are fast, u got timings, and ALL weapons matter, its not based on 3 weapons as quake mainly is.

It stands for Field of View and is literally the field of vision you can see in game therefore a 90 fov compared to a 120 will limit the amount of view you can see in game, (see more on screen at one time)

Can anyone explain how to count multiple items simultaneously? I've NEVER managed to count two items in between all the tension of the game itself.

nizamm you should remember table of timings of items. 0-25, 1-25 etc. also you should take armors in the same order every time. so you needn't remember all respawn times of armors. you remember that you took a red for example in 3:50 and one yellow 5 seconds later and other yellow 5 seconds later then first yellow armor. Next respawn of the red is 4:15, then you should go to the first yellow in 5 seconds, and go to other yellow in 5 seconds after the first yellow. what about mega health? mh respawns in 35 seconds. You should remember if you take mh then you take red after 10 seconds, they will respawn at the same time. Try to avoid it.

It takes willpower and practice. Try first just sequencing the items. Try timing with and without the clock. Try going by a count in your head (or the clock), and also by feel. Try the timing offset based on the sequence (red comes 5 seconds after yellow, mega comes 9 seconds after red, etc). And later even try having multiple counts or feels, one for each item, in your head, side by side. Most people can do it, we just lead modern lives which are lazy, hectic and disorganized. The mental muscles you train will carry over into other parts of life.

Did you learn this? I've been duelling in champions (lame in comparison to QL I know) and I find counting the items easy but find I always get overwhelmed by the combat and whatnot and forget to position and challenge for the items often, the timings go out of the window for me so easy. I've played around 300 duels and still struggle, any pointers?

he knows how to kick ass, his timing is a bit shit imo, but he seems to be pretty smart to know some of those things that he knows. there are maybe a few other things that he doesn't know that could make him even better than he is but all you have to do is look at other pro players and see what those things are.
