I was hospitalized for two months and told I needed to get on a heart transplant list and I had no more than 5 years to live with my current heart. I was given every test known to man but they could not figure out what was making my heart so weak. I was SCREAMING OUT to them in every way possible that I had a very very stressful life and experienced many traumatic situations but nobody listened. My mother was dying of lung cancer while I was hospitalized and this weak heart of mine they just couldn't figure it out nor did they seem to care. After two months and a hospital donating the funds to let me leave with a life vest aka external defibrillator and then 8 months later I was told my diagnosis was Takatsubo aka "Broken Heart Syndrome" after 8 months of accepting my fate of death because I was told I had an EF of 10-15% and had severe heart failure and needed to get on a heart transplant list or else I had no longer than 5 years to live. I was told after 8 months my heart had recovered I was given a year of a drug called Entresto and told to just keep taking this med and I would live a normal long full life! Not the case. I can barely walk I have chronic edema, my father recently passed away and I find myself in the same situation. Nobody seems to know much about this syndrome in this country. Apparently they have been studying this syndrome for years in Europe but in the US they know very little. It's scary and I am sure I will die of it.

You won't die from it. Just take it day by day and as the days go by. You'll look back and tell it to kiss your butt. Iui ts broken heart syndrome not weaken by disease. Keep keeping the faith.

You will live long happy life Just shift your eyes from stressors Advocate a healthy lifestyle Reduce your risk factors for heart disease and eat healthy Takutsubo recurs only in 2% of patients and this is way too low incidence to worry about And your disease prognosis is good compared to other heart diseases that put u on transplant list Thanks for sharing your experience Wish u all the best
