I’ll try your friend’s recipe the next time I make some. I made my mincemeat in the instant pot and laced it with amaretto 🤪and for the pastry I added ground almonds. They were yummy😋

Oh that sounds lovely Pat, I have made my mincemeat before but I used brandy but your version sounds lovely, I'll definitely try that next time and ground almonds in the pastry sounds good too! I must say I think I prefer the almond taste in my pastry better than the Vanilla, although it was nice. xx

Of course Jacqueline. Sweet Pastry. 6oz Butter or marg (I use butter) 1 & 3 quarters oz Icing Sugar. 8oz Plain Flour. Almond Essence / Vanilla extract or plain. Do not add water, May add a little more butter if needed. Oven - 170 C / 338 F 3.5 Gas. For approximately 10 minutes, (Mine took longer) Until just slightly turning golden brown. Enjoy!
