Up to 60% of all chronic diseases develop and often progress as a result of unresolved stress levels and lack of deep and resilient sleep. While several health conditions are affected, the most underappreciated impact has recently been identified on reproductive health. Due to their interconnectivity, these underlying systems can be clinically managed with specific nutritional support and comprise a critical core approach to patient care. Clinical nutrition therapeutic approaches have been shown to significantly impact outcomes, and leveraging cotherapies can help facilitate the time-course of care.
Learning Objectives:
• Describe the interconnectivity and impact that stress and sleep have on major health issues and patient segments.
• Describe how the continuum of stressors (anxiousness, mood) can be rebalanced and how deep sleep helps facilitate and accelerate recovery and reduce underlying inflammation.
• Review clinical protocols and case studies describing the biggest impact on targeted patient groups, chronic health conditions, and choice options of clinical nutrition for each therapeutic regimen.
