To become one with the pen, we must first know what it is fully capable of. Today we learned a lot, but unfortunately, in this stress test we did not see the pen fail, so we still haven't pushed it to it's limit.

Ink is wet. It will warp paper. The only thing you could do would make it a lot slower. But then the ink would pool. More of what happens from using a machine printing process. Interesting though. Nice pen.

InkScape is very similar to Adobe Illustrator. I have not tried InkScape, I have seen videos on its use. Perhaps instead of sending all the layers to the plotter, try grouping the vectors so that you prevent the traveling of the pen from one side of the paper to the other. And have all the vectors on the same layer, once they are converted.
