Peter Draws, one of the fine prospects of this earth. His innate desire to “draw”, captivates us all, and he never ceases to share himself and what he represents as a human being. A true spectacle of a man, a man whom we look forward to watching each and every day; as we cannot get enough of his seemingly nonchalant genius. Peter fuckin draws, what did the world do to deserve you.

To be fair, it didn't actually say that on the side he looked at first. I'm guessing there was another side but I'm 12 mins in. Update: Nope, there wasn't. It didn't say that, it gave directions for how to unscrew it. As an autistic guy, I'd need that to be more obvious tbh. I need things to be literal. Nobody else is wrong for needing that either.

@@smellslikelayne I need very short and on point instructions because if they're too detailed I don't read them ^^ So they need to get this one point across before I pour ink into the first opening I see. And you can be sure that I would have made the same mess Peter did here but without that clean and tidy surface below it.
@Selrisitai
@Selrisitai Жыл бұрын
@@mockingjay478 It does say that, and in fact, Peter first unscrews the correct section. He then screws it back, unscrews the top and starts trying to fill it. It was an easy mistake to make, but the paper's instructions were clear enough that Peter successfully followed them before he stopped following them! Lol!

Peter.. Peter Peter Peter Peter Peter... If what you want to draw are blobs embrace the blob. Why I subscribe to you is because of the ambiguous nature of what you do. In fact it broke me of my own artist block. Not that I draw like you... But I have adopted a few of the techniques I see you do. And you did turn me on to pen and ink. I don't really watch other artists yet. I started a few, but I've been watching you now for a year-and-a-half. And I've gone back to seven years of your videos already. And that's because of the blobs. I've even embraced the hot dogs because of you. So if what you want to draw as a blob don't second-guess that please.

Someone that's been using Rite in the Rain for over a decade here. The black paper is sealed on both sides, but not the edges; it isn't meant to Live in regular contract with heavy/shower level rain. If you want totally waterproof paper at the cost of it being a little "slick" for lack of better words, go with the DuraRite No. 635; this is meant to be waterproof. The black one you have I've been carrying for about two years now, and it's been through the wash at least twice with very little noticeable impact beyond the pages looking like that, but with much less bleeding. The brown one is less durable, and pages come out a bit more easily (which wasn't good for my everyday carry). The one you have suited me very well for years, while the white waterproof one was completely waterproof but the pages seemed plastic-y. Takeaway is this - Waterproof - DuraRite Everyday/hard use - Black one Lighter use/water repellant - Tan

Actually, baking/parchment paper is about the most long-lasting water-proof paper you can get, and it costs a lot less, too. You can use if for a million things--makes a great tinder for example. And, mundane as it sounds, you can bake on it.

you can avoid that problem by unscrewing the nib end to fill the pen. :D long story short: fountain pens are men to work closed. the ink flow is, in great parts, regulated by how much air is let back in. but with the back of the pen open, the ink just seeps out the channels lent for ink as well as air.

There was something extra special about this video. Usually I watch these videos to unwind before I go to sleep but this one kept me entranced and made me incredibly happy. I think this is one of my favorite drawings I've seen you do too. The more you added to it so it constantly changed subject in my mind - from galactic boat, to solemn sea monster, to apocalyptic city scape - and talked about how you're so inspired by lines really resonated with me? The little cover at the end really tied it all together too. This video was particularly inspiring for me. Made me want to get out of bed and create. To live. Thank you for everything you do.

@JohnSmith-if7kx

On the Up Next recommended videos on the right I saw a video that said How to draw the head, face, portrait and even though I haven't drew anything in over a decade I had a minisecond of anxiety flash up from remembering how upset I'd get having unrealistic expectations and hopes when I'd try to draw something realistic and it would turn into something a blind five year old child may draw instead and thats when my brain said I'd probably be able to draw a face better if I pretended I wasn't drawing a living face but someone who has passed away. It seemed like a plausible idea but I got self conscious thinking that normal people wouldn't do that and I should probably frown upon that but I decided to share that with anyone who happens to read this anyway. I also got concerned for some reason at the idea of Peter taking any kind of psychedelics as his drawings sometimes look like something out of an hp lovecraft novel and I didn't want him to get a bad trip. Towards the end of the video I thought I should comment something. So I thought I'd be clever and be like "Hey Mr. P" So I'd be different. But then I thought of people who make phallic jokes regarding the letter 'D' and I thought that was just too close. So my brain tried to compromise with just say "Hey Mr. Draws" and I had to remind myself that thats not your last name. But then I thought, what if someone whos primary language isn't english, thought that was your last name and said that. Later realizing that was incorrect and getting embarrassed. It would probably be a moment they wouldn't dwell on too long, but every once in awhile they'd remember it and it would ruin their next hour. Life is like that sometimes, we hold onto things and we're hard on ourselves. I guess I should wrap this up as I'm really just rambling. I hope shower Peter isn't too hard on himself and is able to appreciate the blobs and the future sharp angles, the fine points and the bolds. Take care to anyone who reads this and I'm sorry you read this. That is all.

Shower thoughts :o Hang in there Peter! It's healthy to get stuff out onto paper and self reflect. Usually that can help you to feel like you've finished a thought and you don't have to worry about forgetting it, and thus it's okay to stop thinking it. Particularly if you come up with sincere observations and plans. Journaling is good for everything except traumatic, devastating physical injury (in which case it makes things much worse).

yes, from the front!!, but I get why you did it, as some brands have an "air regulator" at the other end, like the vent valve on petrol tanks for outboard motors, but in this case to stop the "siphon" effect so one can carry it in ones pocket without spillage!; but for most brands this access point is for cleaning the barrel (ink chamber) before a colour change, so ALL of the old ink is removed. Think from memmory the TWISBI brand disasembles this way for this purpose too.

Peter, concerning your comment at 20.07, you may want to delve deeper into other art mediums. It may bring on other joys. I'm experimenting in many different mediums and it is opening my eyes. You clearly have talent. I think you may find "bigger" audiences by expanding your mediums!

this felt very Marine to me but also very spacey. at first I saw a whale in it. and I imagined something that is a little like a whale. but alien and immense way out of reach in space. a living ship perhaps that swims across planets

I like just about everything about this Pen! The price is out of my range at $150.00+ I just can not justify the expense. It is very cool and I like that they gave you one to show us!

Yea, that price for what you’re getting is nuts. You’re in the realm of gold nibbed pens and nice used high ends at that price point.

This is the first video by Peter that I've seen, and I gotta say, the blob-drawing took me completely by surprise. It's really interesting, stream-of-consciousness like.

What I like in the blobs, Is the organic natural feel to them. But they also feel as through theyre a futuristic sort of thing. Kinda like 60s/70s interior design. Futuristic yet retro. I also love how they can be interpreted differently no matter who. I like this blob because the circles in a line look like little windows for little blob creatures to live in. And I really just love your style is what I’m tryna say

If you have trouble washing away ink stains on your skin, consider using "Lava" soap or something similar. It is a bar soap with pumice grains in it, so you can exfoliate the stained layers off after a couple lathers and rinses. If the stains are super stubborn, simply rub the bar directly on like gentle sandpaper. I have fair skin and it doesn't seem to bother me, but I'd recommend testing it cautiously before getting more and avoiding it for regular use unless you need to wash stains from your hands frequently. Obviously not a bath bar.
