Had a treadle tracker app & abandoned it after realizing am better off “knowing“ the pattern and manually keeping track as I weave. Glad you’re back!

So glad to see you again, but please don't fell bad or guilty about needing time away. That happens to me more often than I'd like to admit! Glad you were able to overcome the challenges and complete your project. Darn, it seems tempo treadle needs to tweak their device, from the comments as well. I've been quite curious about it. I guess I'll just keep marking every pic by hand for now. Thanks for sharing.

I was so happy to. See a new video from you today! Your towels are absolutely lovely. I empathize with your experience with TempoTreadle. It’s a great invention and I’m sure it works wonderfully for many people but for me, after trying it on both my Baby Wolf and my Louët Jane, I stopped using it entirely. I’m back to my old system of writing out the treadling pattern and noting where I am by moving a little wonderclip. I find that I’m much more able to really understand the structure. as I weave, and to read the cloth itself with a deeper understanding. And for sure, in those instances when I have to unweave (darn it!) my system works way better for me. My head would get totally confused if I had unweave using TempoTreadle.

Glad you decided to weave with your own memory. I feel the weaver and the loom work much better without distractions. I like your line of 2 threads for cutting pieces apart. Thanks for the video!

I am glad your back I missed your videos. I did the same pattern on 2 black and cream shawls in 8/4 cotton and felt the pattern was difficult also

Great to see you back! I once took an entire year away from weaving. I ‘m glad I did because I came back to it with a refreshed mind and everything felt new again!

Good to see you again but sorry you had a bad time with automation. But when you get frustrated, sometimes walking away for a while is necessary. I think one of the reasons I like weaving is the brain and body exercise it provides. At 71, I prefer needing to concentrate on learning a sequence of throws and appreciate knowing where I am for corrections. So I don’t think I’d like something taking over either. I like many of Lofty Fibers after-market tools and have wondered about trying this one and you’ve given me an excellent reason to pass (and save my money for other toys 😊). Thanks.

Love the pattern and glad you're back to weaving. I understand weaving frustrations and just having to walk away sometimes. Glad you're back though. Happy Weaving.

I'm sorry to hear about the tempo treadle problems! Oh that sucks especially when you invested all the time and effort and for some reason it just isn't clicking with you. I think each weaver has their own method for keeping track, I use sticky notes directly on the castle to remind me where I am. I tried the treadle tracker app - but each time I had to stop, hit next..etc. when it was just easier to move the sticky note as I moved the heddles. The towels look amazing! I love Strickler, only wove it once (can't remember which number in the Green Davidson book) and it turned out gorgeous (even with my miscount mistakes). Glad you're back, sometimes you just need a break...ya know?

Thanks for the heads up. I actually plan to avoid the help of automations, even the dobby. Machines steal the fun in hand weaving. But they're great help for production weavers who have deadlines and quotas and need to weave faster.

I have a tempo treadle for my table loom but haven't tried it yet. I've been afraid of exactly your experience, and pencil and paper have worked fine for me so far anyway.

I use iweaveit on my ipad. If Im desperate. But like satnavs and everything when just following the next instruction you almost have no memory of what you did as you say. But memorising or even being able to work out what the next pattern pick is much better for you. In a way. If you can. Something you tell you is good i guess if you cant
