Ha! Did watch this all the way through. Popped off to next video so had to come back and let you know, that I am glad you take the time to show, that even gardens have to be cleaned out, weeded and taken care of just like our homes. Just look at all the "house cleaning" videos that are on you tube! Enjoy, all you and your Tommy are doing! ❤from GA!

Sydney, you are doing such a fantastic job of taming that hot mess of a garden that you inherited. Everything is so overgrown with no rhyme or reason to it. Your plans seem very practical and more maintenance free. Can’t wait to see how you tackle that messy side fence back garden next to the raised beds. Please take it easy in that awful heat. Stay safe and stay hydrated.

Sydney, I pull the weeds in my flower beds by hand but weeds in pathways, between bricks and stones get a dose of boiling water from my electric tea kettle. They and their seeds die a quick death and the area remains sterile for quite awhile.
@susanaeh
@susanaeh Жыл бұрын
Actually, the prior garden did have a rhyme and reason to it and was featured in several gardening magazines. The previous owner spent over 30 years working on that garden. Although it may not be to your taste, it was planned. Sydney now owns the home and garden and has a vision that is "different" than the previous owner. People have different style preferences, and that's fine. Both Sydney and the previous owner share a love of gardening and are actually friends.

The gardens are really looking great! Loving your style come together. I especially love the back window box and what you’ve planted under it. I have to say though that the hose reel just takes so much away from it. We have a HoseLink, which is similar to yours, can’t you put a short extender hose on the spicket and mount the reel off to the side or on a 4x4 post? Also, wouldn’t drag on your plantings. 🤷‍♀️

Hi Sydney You've done a marvellous job today. I think those roses behind the barberry have been smothered for space and light. But the roots look old and plants do reach an end and we have to let go. The potager looks lush. That metal gate would look lovely used as a trellis with a garden seat in front. Where i don't know. You may need a sit down after work in the raised beds in the future💕

Sydney I recently stumbled upon a weeding tool that works great on areas like stone pavers and gravel. It’s a small propane torch on a long handle designed for that specific purpose. My daughter has a large paver patio in Florida where the weeds grow like crazy and she loves not having to be on her hands and knees trying to pry them out of the tiny cracks anymore. It may be great solution for you.
