Always love the Blackpool performances. They such showstoppers. Sometimes just really wish they could do some more pro dances in the results show. Love watching the celebs learning to dance, but getting to watch all these pro's do their thing is really special.

@@sierrastar5155 she definitely did not get as much praise as last season and that is clear by the comments on the Pro Dancer videos from last year. where she is barely mentioned in the comments at all. She is a incredible dancer yes but everyone seems to be obsessed with her because of Joe. Also her social media platforms have shot straight up and nearly has 5x the amount of followers on insta compared to the other professionals. I would love to see her in more leading roles but same goes for dancers such as Amy, Nadiya etc. x

Can we just give a moment to appreciate the pro dancers on strictly! I feel like they are not appreciated enough, they get dumped with a celeb who hasn’t had any dance experience and always pull of amazing routines. And the group numbers they do are Fantastic!!

Aside from the fact that she's a lovely, funny person and a great dancer? Because this is the internet and Dianne is partnered with the internet celebrity this year, so her popularity, particularly online, has skyrocketed thanks to Joe's fanbase. But ask the older generations away from social media who their favourite dancer is and you will get a much wider variety of responses.

@@TBelen91 I am an 'older person' and I think Joe is great. Didn't have a clue who he was at the start though! I have really enjoyed seeing him transform from ungainly beginner into quite a lovely dancer. I think he is slightly ahead in ballroom than latin, but I look forward to his performances. I think he's certainly in the final and would not be surprised (I'd be happy about it too) if he won. There is historically a shortage of boys who dance, I mean in the juvnile/junior age bracket. Joe is showing the younger generations that it is great to dance and that anyone can do it and with practice get good at it. That is a marvellous thing for the dance world.

Apologies, I never meant to imply that only the younger generations like Joe, just that (as you'd expect) we're more populous on the internet and therefore online comment sections will typically be more skewed in Joe's favour than for other celebs or dancers. Since he has a pretty safe and loyal online following, the real test for Joe on Strictly has been to see if he can win over the general public, and it's been really nice seeing all the new fans he's acquired. He worked on me, I have to say - Strictly isn't a show I would typically watch, nor had I seen any of his videos before being announced in this year's line-up. But I loved that the BBC was willing to recognise these online stars as celebrities worthy of going on flagship programmes like Strictly, and with every week he continues to impress me, he's been a fantastic ambassador. I'm more than happy to continue supporting him through the rest of his journey and even after the show!

I must admit to having a 'who's he?!' moment when the celebrities were announced, but then that happens every year with the sportsmen and women too, because I don't follow much sport! Strictly has been going for a long time and needs to stay current, otherwise it risks becoming stale and boring, so I thought it was a clever move on their part to get him on board. He is attracting a younger audience who might find that they like the show and come back to watch it next year. Also (and this is the cynic in me talking) it won't hurt the bank balance if he goes on the tour! I like that I had no preconceived ideas about him beforehand and I like that I see him,not as a favourite celebrity and therefore subject to biased feelings, but simply as a young man who has learnt to dance. I think he has a very bright future.
