1- I think you underestimate that there are land aura that could ramp you incredibly fast with pearl-ear. You can cast wolf-hollow haven on a land with gift of paradise for 1 mana, reduce all your futur enchant by 1 and you draw a card on top of it. Kinda good... 2- if you can swing once with tamiyo without having her to die (which seem fairly doable as a 1 mana 0/3). you can wait to have 4 mana, attack with her a second time and crack the clues before she get blocked.

Ulamog's counter gaining ability is ETB and it counts ANY card in exile, not just the ones you exile with his cast trigger. Therefore, reanimating him and having some card in exile that costs a few mana is bonkers good.

Ulamog enters with counters even if it’s reanimated as long as you hard cast it once or there’s other cards in exile. It looks at all cards in exile at all times.
