Yeah, Nadu's ability is only twice per turn. Except, he gives that ability to each creature. So each creature can trigger that twice per turn. And he can put mana into play directly, untapped. Which lets you play the creatures you draw, so you can draw more cards, so you can play more creatures, so you can draw more cards and get more lands and play more creatures until you don't have a deck anymore and oh, would you look at that. I wonder if there's any win conditions that specifically want you to not have a deck?

Shifting Woodland also can’t really become a copy of a battle (not that it’ll be all that relevant). Rules state “if a siege never had defense counters put on it (perhaps because a permanent became a copy of one), it can’t have its last defense counter removed. It will be put into its owners graveyard. You won’t exile it or cast the other face.” I know battles aren’t popular, but it is a rules consideration to think about

That would require Wizards to actually push the format at the LGS level.
@BlazinTre5 ай бұрын
Why would someone want to jump in a format where on avg you'd need at least 500$ to be competitive where they can play a new(-ish) game?
@Xoulrath_5 ай бұрын
@@BlazinTre are you not familiar with Standard? It's an easy $300-$500 to just dive in head first if you want competitive play. Pioneer and Modern certainly cost more for the best cards and shiny new meta decks. However, the reality is that there are $100 budget decks that are reasonably competitive given their cost, that can be built up over time. Commander has bone stock trash decks for $50+ that need to be upgraded to be worth a damn even at the kitchen table. The game costs some money to play. Commander isn't any better a place for new players to enter than budget Standard, Pioneer, or Modern.
@BlazinTre5 ай бұрын
@@Xoulrath_ but at least those stock Commander precons are buyable. Still waiting for one for Modern or Standard. At least Flesh and Blood is adorable from the jump!
@Xoulrath_5 ай бұрын
@@BlazinTre well they had great Challenger decks for Standard over the years. I've purchased some. Then I got all of the Pioneer Challenger decks that I know of. They are also great and cost like $40. So they've already done that. There is zero reason that Wizards couldn't have made four $100 Modern Challenger decks to kickstart new players to the format with MH3, other than they have to keep that artificial scarcity model going. It's a hell of a lot more profitable for them to put a handful of good cards that have like $20-$50 worth of value into a 100 card Commander precon that sucks, than it is to make a halfway decent tournament ready deck for any other format. Hence all of the Commander decks every year and set. It's all raw profit for them with very little actual work.

Labyrinth is a great solution to move Aldrazi from aggro to more control. It's a shame they have so many tall cards that dont see play in those decks. Now you will have to run more bricks in your deck, or basic lands when those creatures stop being bricks. If you get to the point to play those threats, the land is just a basic land. This also means you get 1 less card in hand, so you will play with 1 less option to have a better playable card with your land, since you will want to keep/have a brick in hand. Hiding the card in exile is a side effect that can be a bonus, but it depends entirely on how easy it is to remove a land from play. If removing a land is easy, then they know how much more worth the laberynth is and you lose a powerful threat in your deck (you lose 2 cards since you cant return the exiled one), instead of your opponent having to gamble on you having a card in hand worth the resources. This feels like a Timmy card. The card disadvantage it pushes is borderline acceptable (most cards with this kind of disadvantages are seen as unplayable), but has the potential to push taller Aldrazi decks in a really elegant way. If it breaks anything it will be an artifact deck that doesnt exist, since this card only sort of works in tron decks. But you dont run enough expensive cards to justify Labyrinth, since this has to both replace a land in those decks, and have you replace other cards with more expensive ones.
