ngatiramona don’t speak for everyone cuz no other people care about more than food. Like the beautiful landmarks and views and also the culture. Living in the US, California to be exact I never see traditional culture. Everyone here is Americanized now nothing is original and also the people here and no where near as friendly.

I LOVE okra! Dad learned about it when his ship ( HMCS Bonaventure) was docked at New Orleans. He later found it at our local grocery store and decided to bring it home to show us what it was like. He gave it a quick boil, took it off the burner while it was bright green, and served it with butter and salt. Instant hit!!! I love it in veggie pasta.

Grew up with okra living in the South but I'm like Mike. Can't stand stewed okra because of the slimy feel but love it when it is fried because it's nice and crispy. The taste is fine either way but that slimy feel of the cooked okra just is too much.

I am so happy to see those rice paper round things and learn what they are used for. I have some with tiny shrimp and black sesame seeds embedded in the rice paper. Thing is, I bought them at the market (in Dallas TX!) and there was no one to tell me what to do with them, so I just forgot about them. Now I know how to use them, thanks to you! That looked great, with the egg and green onions, etc. and toasting them on the flame burner is obvious now that I see it!

Hideously bad for the waistline, but oh so tasty
